Which discontinued (or re-re) kit would you restore if you could choose???

I missed out on the mighty LST's, was on a hiatus when they were on the market. Maybe I lucked out, I have bins full of discontinued relics already. LOL
Definitely look killer though!😎👍
I have a lot of those various versions. It's my all-time favorite platform.

Do you know the story or why they don't make them any more?
The Proline Profusion is the most incompanetly engineered RC truck in history.

The chassis flexes so much the screws pull out of the side rails.
The C-clips that hold the input gear in place falls off causing the diffs to grind themself apart.
The fully exposed receiver sits directly beside the spur gear.
The hinge pin retainers are made out of Metallic silly putty.
The "upgrade" hinge pin retainers are still weaker than the plastic one that comes on a Tekno SCT410.3 (I own one of them too).

When it does work it's the hottest SCT made. Now that Proline is part of the HH family they should do a companetly engineered V2. The truck has potential, I still take mine for a drive every once in a while.

I hope someone in corporate hq is reading posts like these.
This is actually good input for them!
I hope @WoodiE is getting paid for this stuff! 😆
I hope if it gets remade, they keep true to the original but fix it rather than just using a Gorgon chassis with a fancy livery package, tires and wheels and a bumper!
There's clearly some potential sales to be had if manufacturers choose to re-re without entirely re-vamping. This seems important to me and other ppl too!
A re-release needs to be true to the original with maybe options for brushless, slippers... upgrades, not a new platform.

I love reading these, "metallic silly putty" and "gears made of cheese"! 🤣🤣🤣

@KnowAir & @9x19 say no re-release is good re-release! (Like Gary Gnu). This is good info too! I'm curious as to why.
If I only see my perspective, I haven't seen much! 😉

What are your ultimate cars and why?

I think I'd take any of the 3 proline cars they released and discontinued or a losi nitro mt or an old hpi nitro with all the option parts..... back when they were purple. Maybe even a purple baja.

The purple blue and yellow combos ppl built were SO COOL!!!
The cars looked like they were made of candy!!! 😍😋
I forget was it rsp4 they made? On-road car they made and I ALMOST bought even tho I didn't run on-road but such a cool looking and well respected nitro!

I always liked Losi but I don't own any.
Such cool trucks! ❤️

Rs4 3 Evo was the last version they made. I have 3 nitro rs4 3s and a nitro rs4 drift. Reminds me of the 4 Japanese bike manufacturers in the 80s and 90s. Very colorful and thought out. Now they pick the most depressed individual to do 1 color schemes it seems.

Only thing losi I owned was a lipo ballancer in 2009 and some shims. I really wanted a 3.4 motor but they are long gone. Lesson learned. In my next life I will buy and hoard at a younger age. 🤣😝

I wasn't saying there are no good vintage or re-released rc's, but rather that I myself am not interested. However, I was out of the hobby for a while, missed the Losi LST's completely. Sounds like a great platform. I have seen the Proline 4x4 MT, was actually still available when I got back into the hobby around 2019/20.. kinda glad I didn't get one though, nothing worses IMO than having a great rc we can't get parts for. I still have and run my Thunder Tiger MT4, which I feel was great for it's time, but the modern Kratons and the like are superior in most aspects.
In the nineties I grabbed a Losi GTX nitro stadium truck to run against my bro's RC10GT. We just ran around his yard mostly, I took the GTX to a motocross sand track a few times, bmx too. I will say, the RC10GT was a better built rc for what we were doing, racing, IDK. I just didn't want to have the same rig he did, LOL. But his was more durable for sure. I actually tried to buy a RC10GT about 10 years ago, ebay.. was pretty sweet, had a bunch of upgrades on it. I won the auction for $125!! Yahoo!! Until a few days later when the seller gave me a lamo fish story about the GT getting run over by a car in a parking lot.. I was tuning it, getting it ready to ship.. Uh, yeah, sure.
So, I found a vintage Losi GTX that had been built, but never fired.. another hole in my head, LOL. I broke it in, ran a couple times and that was that. Both GTX's haven't been ran in about 8 years. I'm sure the motors are seized right tight by now.:(

Mmmm hmmmm hhhmmmm mmmmmhhhmmmmm and I want it painted black... 🤣🤣🤣
I guess I got lucky. I grew up with car ppl. I listened to COUNTLESS "I wish I'd never sold my..." stories.
I listened. 🤣

Losi has made some pretty solid stuff. Their JRXS type -r is one of the rc I regret selling.
Ouch! 😲🥺

@KnowAir, I get it. I didn't mean it so literally that you didn't like them at all.
I am looking forward to firing up the nitros again soon! They ARE fun even though noisy and messy if you're not careful. 🤣🤣🤣
I understand though.
Ome thing I was thinking is if someone was seeing this purely from a tech/racing POV, they wouldn't like re-re's either. Simply outdated trash. 🙁
I enjoy hearing all the different thoughts on this!

I remember seeing the RS4 advertised all over the place back when, I just never got into road cars, always been a dirty guy I guess. My brother picked up an Arrma Felony a couple years back, kept telling me how cool it was drifting around the parking lot at his complex. I finally stopped by one day after work, I drove it for about 5 or 10 minutes, it's cool, but just not my thing. After burning off the stock tires, he started stealing parts off it to keep his other Arrma's going. Guess the luster wore off for him too.

I don't think i said that... I just agreed that today's models are better engineered than most from the past.

I'm fine with re-releases for what they are, vintage tributes. I have three in the box myself, but I wouldn't grab one of those as my main basher.

I see... I guess I read into it.
Again, enjoying the perspectives and what ppl like and didn't like about the older stuff.
I agree totally that my older stuff isn't close to as durable.
I also don't launch my bashers off super high jumps so my demands are less than a lot of ppl's.
The newer materials and some CAD would do wonders for old cars designs and parts IMO.
I keep hearing all these good things about Tekno. If I find another 1/10 scale, good deal I'm gonna give them a shot. I can't seem to find ppl who DON'T like them. THAT is saying something!
I def see where new is good and fits.

Before "stadium trucks" came to be, and before the RC10T came out, there was this thing called a Blue Eagle. It was the most regrettable thing I ever let go of. I don't know what to say. The shocks were great. The chassis was great. The ball diff was great. That thing was amazing. Nobody hardly showed up to race the truck class, so I sold my Blue Eagle. If only I kept it for another two years, I probably would have gone down the stadium truck lover path much sooner.

If I recall, they advertised this with an RC10 look alike buggy and an m-t?
This truck was SO COOL!!!❤️❤️❤️
It has a very race oriented look to it. Its not overly tall or huge tires.
The ones that got away are sad sometimes! You ARE the first person I've ever talked to who owned one so THATS cool!!! 😎

I still have my Tekno MT410 2.0 and I like it a lot. It's a tough design with good materials, just a bit heavier than most other trucks the same size... no free lunch.

No, I guess not. My Kyosho's were a vit heavy too. I don't think I'd mind that much.
Maybe in a stock race but in mods I don't see it being a disadvantage while bulletproofing is what you gain!
I feel like the Arrrma's I have aren't great materials. Ball joints and bearings are sloppy already. The 3s arms and axle shafts are likely to be replaced with better design 4s parts.
I can't help but to think the 3s suspension is the same cost to Arrma. Why it wasn't built like that to start? Upgrade sales for Arrma is all I can guess.
These hub bearings are falling apart and I don't jump mine, just 3s a lot.
I like tinkering but I don't want to replace the stuff I JUST bought with new just to say I did.
I think this hs been my experience with a lot of things and explains some of my current thoughts on the market.
If it needs upgrades, ESP if its an "upgraded" truck, pretty please, actually include the upgrades with the "upgraded" truck.

i just remembered a few more.
the HPI Mini RS4 and Nitro Mini RS4. they were RS4's but Tamiya M chassis size, or "mini 1/10 scale".
i almost bought the nitro, but by the time i got the money together they had just discontinued it so i didn't buy it.

the Marui Big Bear.

and even though it was jump off the curb and break it weak, the MRP High Roller. but they would have to fix the majorly fragile drivetrain.

Years ago ppl at the track I raced at ran ClodBusters and other giants with a pull sled, like a tractor pull.
The MRP made it to an event or 2. I even recall weak gears but this is coming from guys who poweted the trucks with Dewalt drill motors.
The Big Bear was always a wish list sort of truck for me too!👍🏻

wtf, a Dewalt motor in a High Roller? man a silver can could destroy the gears in those things. think those gears were made of wet tissue paper and 7th century stained glass.
