Associated RC 10 DS . I have the rereleased kit. Just have to build it. RC12i my first car would be cool too!
Both were legends! I totally understand wanting both!
Did you race your 12 on a track or more backyard and driveway?
There wasn't much to them which made them reliabke and super fast! 😎

Actually-I wanna add to my “doesn’t fakkin’ matter” wishlist…🤷🏻‍♂️😅

OFNA/HongNor/Jammin’ Products

Jammin CRT.5…. 1/16th scale Nitro Truggy. Even had 3 damned diffs. No slipper bullshiit here.. They were pretty dammiit bulletproof too.

HANDS DOWN the most fun I’ve ever had with ANY RC period. 2nd place is not even close. I swear on sweet little tiny baby Jesus.

I WILL find one, and do it back up proper once I’m done with the track. Quote me, and take it to the bank. 😎🍻🤘

Says the man who hunted for wheels for 20 years and ACTUALLY FOUND THEM!!! 🤣
Just open a build page now and we'll sit and wait here patiently.

I raced my 12i with a club in Orlando, FL. FEAR (Florida Electric Auto Racers) 1984 to 1986. Had the servo/wiper arm speed control to start with. 1200mah Santo Stick packs. It had to live for 8 minute races. We had a $20 rule. Most ran the Epic or Yokomo based 27 turn motor. I had a Futaba Magnum TX. The one with the swivel head. I drive left handed even though I am right handed We would regularly have 20 to 35 racers every other Sunday. We were all in the same class.

It was awesome. Learned a lot. Technology was very quick to expand back then. Some of the things we did would have today's driver really lost. It was fun. I could talk for hours.

I agree completely! I think we were in possibly one of the best times for r/c in a lot of ways.
Radio systems and brushless, lipos are all great advancements and have changed r/c forever, for certain!
I think then, we were learning mechanics and materials. The advancements from dogbones to cvd. Belt drives, shaft drive and gear of course... ALL out on the track!
Slippers were new, brushed motors were advancing by the hour...
We had Novak AND Tekin, Checkpoint motors were my fav, and Futaba didn't cost more than my 1:1 back then!
Brand competition was fierce and fun!
I'm sure this is why I love the old r/c so much.
It was my happy place! 👍🏻

I found some old pics of my old Xray nt18mt next to my e-savage

They both look so cool!
My friend had a nitro Savage. It was a big block 3spd if I recall and it was FAST!
He had trouble tuning the trans though.
How is the E-Savage?

The e-Savage is my first hobby-grade RC. I don’t have any complaints; for its time, it was a solid truck and could probably give modern bashers a run for their money in terms of durability.

Nice!
It was a beast in nitro form!
How is the Xray? That thin- looks like a total blast!!!

I sold it a while back because parts were getting hard to find. As much as I loved the gimmick of having a 1/18 scale nitro-powered RC, I didn’t want to pay an arm and a leg for parts. It was pretty fun though and it pissed off a few neighbors who didn’t expect such a tiny thing to sound so loud. 🤣

If you haven't pissed off your neighbors at least once, you're not nitro'ing right! 🤣🤣🤣
Thats a shame about parts! Is that common for Xray? Do they stop product support on all their cars do you know?

Mine don’t even mind it 😂 hell they will even come stand at the fence and watch us 😂. My boy does take them over every now and then and runs in their yard, they love it 🤣

Funny, Years ago I cranked up my Jato on the porch, just outside the open kitchen door and it was like I had the exhaust on a PA system! 🤣🤣🤣
I felt like an ass and shut down quick.
Not 10 seconds later my neighbbor and his kid both are out of breath running up the driveway.
Hes yelling "I knew it! I knew it was you!"
We talked about r/c all the time after that! 👍🏻

Xray typically has good part support, although their parts tend to be pricier than other brands. I think it was a combination of not many being made, so not many parts were produced at least not at the time I sold it.
