figured id make one thread for all my cars sense work on them often overlaps and takes way longer then expected. ...if i ever finish them... so this will be both a long running build thread and a showcase thread that i will update when i actually accomplish work.

right now iv got 2 main projects. an RC10GT "restoration" and a built from scratch using as many aftermarket parts as possible "Rustler".

"Rustler"

iv also had this long running and long sitting/almost forgotten about project. it started out as custom drag car based around a Tamiya Karmann Ghia body. then i decided to change it up and just make it a pan car and ditch the RC10L front end in favor of a front end design that uses RJ Speed parts. that's as far as iv gotten. pictured I'm using an old 1/8 scale nitro drag car chassis for mockup. have not touched this project in at least 3 years.

finally made some progress on the "generic stadium truck" as i call it. technically it's a Rustler but has very few OEM Rustler parts on it so... plus i hate traxxas and am ashamed to be building this thing. all i wanted was a decent rear motor stick pack using stadium truck with a shelf life longer than bread that didn't cost an arm and a leg and had decent parts support. and here we are... ...depressing...
anyway, enough psychobabble. i finally got rear links, wheels, rear tires, a body, and actually installed them.
still need front links, shocks need softer springs (have them just haven't installed them)and oil. and i have to figure out what's going inside the gearbox. i have a bunch of Drag Race Concepts stuff but i don't like the way the diff fits (had to modify the bearings to make it fit) so idk what's going in there yet. might need a stock diff
whatever, here's the update pic's it's starting to look like a stadium truck.

Awesome build. You might start this thread in the Build showcase
and get yourself a ribbon under your name.
You can add on to it any time you like.
how do you get the build thread contributor one?

looks good so far!

alright i flipped the body mount.
then, sense the truck isn't finished yet, decided to dig out the next project so i could start assembling a shopping list.
yes this is an original short arm 6 gear car.

this pile of parts might one day become a RC10T. and yes those are NOS front arms. and the gearbox case is from RPM

a little workbench update.
got the OG 6 gear RC10 close to roller status. got an outer diff hub off ebay. made a front shock pin out of a broken 7/64 drill bit. got the new tires mounted on the new wheels. new idler gears. converted it to bearings. just need to rebuild the shocks and figure out what I'm doing with/for front camber links. i have some but they're for a long arm car. i could cut them down, but idk... might just say screw it and make some out of all-thread

and while i was on the ebay shopping spree i grabbed a couple parts for my Team Losi XX buggy. so that's a project now. as if i didn't already have enough going on  (i have the shocks they're just not in the picture)

so iv got an RC10GT i need to finish. the "generic stadium truck" i need to finish. the 6 gear i need to finish. and now a XX to i need finish. you ever start to feel like you've got to many projects?

I feel like I have too many projects and not enough funding or time, all of the time! It's so hard to focus on one at a time, and then of course the something new comes along snafu. 🤣

Surrounded by them! 🤣

iv spent the last 5 years intentionally avoiding the something new snafu like the plague. then built a truck from scratch  its not new if it's not an actual kit right?

I keep telling my girlfriend "These AREN'T new!" She knows. 🤣🤣🤣

forgot about this thread :hehe: time for an update.
the 6 Gear RC10 is "finished" and i have driven it for all of 5 minutes. but i don't have pic's at the moment.

the Team Losi XX buggy is mechanically "finished" and has a steering servo. ...i think... ...i hope, i had to make it fit... still waiting on receiver, ESC, and motor.
