Guys I'm new to the RC hobby and I need some help !
I was just gifted a Arms Vortex's mega 550 the battery that came with it is a 3300 mqh 8.4 volt and it has a IC3 connector on the battery
I have a Tenergy TB6B charger but the charger has a EC3 connector that came with it will the EC3 connector work to charge my batty with the IC3 connector ??
I emailed Tenergy about it and they are told me that they never head of a IC3 connector !!
As I said I'm new to the hobby and I'm on a fixed income and I can't afford to replace any thing if I mess it up or risk having a explosion or fire !!
Any help would be greaty appreciated !

I'm assuming the battery is a NiMh 3300mAh "Smart" battery pack. Correct?

I emailed Tenergy about it and they are told me that they never head of a IC3 connector !!
That's not surprising since an IC connector is a proprietary connector made by Spektrum (an RC company) and Tenergy is a battery company and not rooted in the RC industry.

I can't afford to replace any thing if I mess it up or risk having a explosion or fire !!
Just for the sake of clarity, LiPos can catch fire, but they do not "explode" per se.

Welcome to RCT! IC3 & EC3 are compatible. As is an IC2 & EC2
IC2 connectors are the only IC connectors not backwards compatible with their EC counterparts.

The IC/EC2 connector needs to just get canned by Horizon IMO. Most no reason for it to exist when they can just use an IC3 connector. I get it’s smaller, but the cars that use the IC2 have plenty of room to fit an IC3 IMO.

But, that’s not something OP really needs to worry about from the sounds of it. Welcome to the forum @mary and welcome to the hobby! We hope you stick around and don’t be scared to show us your rig!
