This is from the new Jconcepts Reactor Kit. The instructions show the pins seperate from the diff housing, but they are actually pressed in to the diff very secure. I dont see how I am supposed to fill this diff with fluid, line everything up perfectly when half the washers and planetary gears will be free floating when I put the second half on. Please someone tell me if I am missing something or just need a little more coffee...

You need more coffee or I'm missing something. I'd do it just like it shows in step 3. Put everything in one half of the diff housing; fill 'er up, then align the other diff housing onto the pins... secure everything down.

The diff has 6 planetary gears and 6 pins to hold them. It is really hard to do that with 3 pins attached to each diff. If I load up each diff with 3 gears each and all the washer on top and bottom of the gears I will have to estimate how much fluid to add and the gears with washers will fall off as soon as I turn it upside down.

The instructions show the 6 pins as seperate, but they are attached instead. This would be super simple if they were not attached.

Those instructions show all six pins and gears installed in one half, not 3 and 3.
That is what is throwing me off. Kind of hard to put the correct amount of diff fluid in if I can't put all 6 gears in the half. Makes no sense that they are pressed in like that but the instructions show them free.

I understand now.

Like you started to do... question those on FB who got 'em up and running. JJ Eaton Racing is on second build.

Ill look up JJ Eaton Racing. I looked all over the internet and could find a single piece of information. I sent a message to Jconcepts asking for clarification. Since this is the first iteration of a bran new kit, I figured I would find something that stumped me.

I just heard back from another person on Facebook that built one. Here is the response. As far as I've seen from others, this is really the only quirky thing in the manual.

I used a little bit off diff fluid to hold everything in place. It is very difficult and had to start over twice lol

Assembly lube to hold all the little parts together maybe?
Thats what I am going to try. Hopefully I get it on the first try and dont make a big mess.

Edit: worked like a charm.
