I'll start this thread on a somber note: The process for this livery has been a coping mechanism for having lost my mom to cancer a few weeks ago. It's been a tough go.

As a kid, Days of Thunder was my favorite movie. My parents and I watched it...a lot. There was a DoT themed motion simulator ride at my local amusement park, which my parents had a hard time getting me off of...I was obsessed. A couple Saturdays ago, I took my dad and my son to watch races at the local track (1:1 asphalt oval) to get our minds off of mom. A gentleman running in the Grand National class had a Mello Yello livery on his car which he modified to say "Mello Fello" to avoid a lawsuit. Instant flashback to my childhood. I was amused and inspired.

Please excuse the creases in my vinyl wraps. I would rather get a root canal than wrap something in vinyl...and it shows

I also installed some Treal housings and a brass servo mount while I was at it.

You can heat that vinyl up and gently work those wrinkles out if you want. Sometimes they bug me and sometimes I don't care. Just letting you know it's an option.

Good on ya for taking your Dad and Son out, to help clear some of the fog that grief brings. Glad you guys had a good time.

What if I told you that was my best work with a heat gun? 😆

I would say you haven't even started to melt the plastic yet!!! I have mastered the art of heat gun destruction if you need any pointers! 🤣
I have a little screen on my phone but I didn't notice any wrinkles at all. It looks PERFECT from my house!!! 😍 😁

The other day, I took the buggy out for a trail ride just after a rainstorm to grab some pics for the ride of the month contest. Took some pretty sweet glam shots and had lots of fun giving the new blingy axles the beans through the muck.

There are a couple local events coming up that I am going to be participating in with the Optic. An "urban night crawl" through our downtown area next weekend and a comp crawl on the 28th at my local crawl spot I usually show in my videos.

For the night-crawl: I've ordered a MyTrickRC light whip which I'm pretty excited about. I may try to get some rock lights going too.

For the comp: I'm going to enter the H10 in the stock chassis 1.9 class and see how she fairs against actual crawlers. I'm also going to see if I can cobble together a LCG comp-style chassis truck to compete in the LCG class (loose rules).

More weight for the front end in prep for next weekend's comp. I was supposed to be working on the Slash but got side tracked!

Installed Treal aluminum knuckles and working on getting the Meus brass servo mount installed now.
