2.2"s are great on this.

It’s cool don’t get me wrong 😅 we built the kit version optic. I personally woulda rather saw a portal optic kit from vanquish instead of another rtr 😂
I wanted the kit but they ran out before I could grab one. Seems they're getting away from kits.

New brushless 2.2 rtr optic H10.

Just ordered mine

At 65 years of age, I'm allowed to be a grumpy old man. I can't stand watching that guy's videos. His unnatural, halting, "YouTube" voice inflection with abnormal emphasis is a complete turn-off to me.

Anyway, I have, and love, a kit-built Optic. I chose to build mine with the recommended 1.9" wheels and 4.75" tires for a more scale look. This is also the diameter of the original, brushed motor RTR Optic's wheels/tires.

In the woods and on the trails, ground clearance is definitely an issue. Everyone seems to be touting the new RTR's increased ground clearance. The new RTR includes 2.2" wheels and 4.9" tires, according to Vanquish's specs. That .15" of extra tire diameter would result in a whopping .075" increase in ground clearance; less than a tenth of an inch.

I'm not casting shade on this cool new RTR, but on the hype over an improvement that seems pretty minor to me. The 2.2" wheels definitely allow the use of larger diameter tires but the stock ones are only a tiny bit larger than the earlier RTR ones.

Anyway, I think the new RTR is very nice. I have a Hobby Wing 2-in1 Fusion Pro ESC/motor combo in mine and it gives excellent performance from an almost undetectable slow crawl to spirited trail running speed. I think Vanquish made a good choice with that power system. The new livery looks great and I would have preferred it to the Huf livery I got at random.

Enjoy your new Optic in good health. :thumbs-up:

With the 2.2's and the portals, the H10 really shines in technical terrain.

I'm sure mine will be on portals soon. I'm planning on converting to 4ws and no point in replacing the rear axle twice 😁😉 if I'm planning portals in the future.
