Who was wrenching today??? What did you do??

I ended up switching out to the carbon front bumper. I just didn’t like how the screws mounted on the 3d printed one. The carbon one mounted perfectly fine. The carbon bumper is a lot lighter anyways. I plan to vinyl wrap the front portion of the bumper matte white.

not really wrenching more like prepping and testing. my boss is going on vacation this month (can't remember exactly what days) so ill be at work solo for probably 3 days. that means a quadcopter and a helicopter will be being flown in the warehouse. might do some mini z drifting. maybe take a 1/18 scale and mess with that a bit. depends on how much busy work i get stuck with.

It always sounds good but they always find a way to stick it to ya.
Hope you get to sneak in a little fun.:thumbs-up:

yeah, got a feeling I'm going to be doing a bunch of stuff for stock. and maybe some encapsulating. if I'm lucky maybe just run the injection molders. i need to make some brash sleeves cause i think we're down to 2 and they go with one of our most common coils, but doubt that will be on the agenda.

Today after i got back from neurologist appointment i got the screws for my Outcast 8s in the mail this afternoon and got the motor installed.

Yesterday i also got in my new Spektrum AVC receiver but i'm still waiting on the ESC to show up. It should be here either tomorrow or Thursday and i'll hopefully be able to get this truck back up and running and get to enjoy it again.

Back to wheelie time! 😎🤙

Really?! That’s all mine likes to do.. 🤔
I did put a slightly larger motor in it tho. 🤷‍♂️
Mine will be running a Firma 160 V2 and the older Hobbywing 5687SL 1,100kv which is almost the same to what the new Arrma 8s EXB RTR trucks run. I have had ideas to swap over to the newer Hobbywing Max 5 G2\800kv 12s combo someday but i may end up keeping my truck comparable to the RTR's.

I run a very similar setup in mine. I think you’ll be pleased. 🤙

finally got the side nerf bar on. It’s allows some flex. those tiny screws are actually stainless steel but that’s fine as they weight basically nothing. They weren’t easy to put on lol. Just about ready for electronics now. A lesson was learned here: don’t use 2-56 aluminum screws because they’ll just strip out even with an Allen wrench.

After i ran my Outcast 8s EXB for the first since installing the new ESC and receiver. I had to reglue all 4 tires at certain spots and since one started to come off the wheel. But it's fixed once the glue has cured the wheels and tires will go back on.

Took the front diff out of the Limitless. Didn't feel right, crunchy, after a few runs. Looked ok, topped off fluid. Added Teflon caster shims to the upper A arms. Put four 1mm in place of the plastic ones & one 0.2mm in front at the tower. No slop. Smooth as glass. All the 6s front hinge pin holders have play, the hinge pins will move back & forth. Put two M2 button heads in a pocket next to the hinge pins. Play removed in the lower front arm. Diff feels better too.

Servo and receiver is secured. You'd think it would be easy but it wasn't. The mount holes on the chassis sit at a slight angle but only on the left side. Considering this is an oval car, I assume it has something to do with that. Eventually I managed to get it on. I used 2 button head screws and 2 lock nuts to secure the servo to the mount, but I had to use a 4-40 drill bit and tap to make the holes accept the button screws. Then I mounted the receiver, making sure the lipo battery will sit nice and flush. I also had to put the servo badge back on, it fell off for some reason.

Today put some new TCRC bumpers on my Redcat Ascent 18. A brand I haven't purchased before (that I recall). Really nice fit and finish. :thumbs-up:

As usual, you'll have to forgive the cat hair, don't know why they insist on side swiping my rigs when I'm taking pictures.

Begun the process of mounting the esc. Talk about a pain. It was a tight fit but it’s in there. I’m gonna have to use a hex driver to turn the car on and off lol. I had the leads soldered and then I used some heat shrink over the connections. I hope it’s fine the way it is. Obviously I had to use some heat but the esc was not hot to the touch and just warm so it should be fine. Then I laid out the wire that connects to the receiver and trimmed the battery leads. I’ll trim the motor leads later, I need to order some pinions before mounting the motor. I also set the tweak of the T plate and set the shims I wanted under the T plate’s pivot sockets. I also assembled the black damper tube and stuffed it with 1m fluid. ( talk about a mess)

Started the process of moving things into the koswork bag. Some assembly was required lol. Still got things to put in, but trying to see where and how I want to organize things. For my radio, I just put the bag onto the handle and let gravity do the work.

I be needing one of em. Been eyeing the ProTek or ProLine hauler. My uncle has a Atomik RC hauler but is discontinued.

Cool stuff, I once looked at getting one of those although me and my dad use a large DeWalt tool box for transporting our race cars and gear but someday it would be nice to have a nice transporter for our race gear.
