It was his first time driving an RC car, so I couldn't be mad at him. All it did was knock the front right dogbone out anyway. But it brought the run to a standstill, so the kids only got to play for like 10 minutes. They had bike riding to do anyway.
I just know he's scouring the internet and begging his parents for one now! I'll never forget the slash 2wd my friends dad let me drive in like 4th grade... It was at that moment I was no longer satisfied with my Nikko. You probably just ruined that poor kid financially for the rest of his life... at least he won't be able to afford drugs. 🤣

“hey dad, watch this!”

…turns out the Optic does not fit under a Chrysler Pacific.

…even if it’s pegged at full throttle on 3S.

This experiment brought to you by my 9 year old daughter who definitely knows better. 😂

I let my nephews and nieces break mine, they love hitting the kicker ramps I have. Full send every time, I enjoy watching it. Then fixing. 🤘🏼

Got the receiver PCBs in new cases. Wasn’t too bad to do tbh.

I need a new case for one of my R304SB receivers i haven't been able to find any. Although nowadays i use Spektrum for most of my cars but i plan to keep my old 4PM so my Grandad or Step Brother can use it along with it's receivers.

Body came in today. Not a show stopper, but it looks better than the mangled mess the other body is. Tires are glued up and batteries are charging. Found a parking lot after work that had sweet sweet pavement and no big puddles.

Really excited to see how it drives after the shock tuning and larger tires.

I took the real wheels off the quad and I'm going to Sawzall the tires off of them tomorrow.
My new tires will be here in a couple days.
The CV boots will be here next week.

WOW. I just got back ripping through the parking lot. Managed to punch a hole in the hood of the brand new body... that's what being lazy and buying a cheap pre-painted amazon special body gets me. I'm pretty sure this thing is made of PVC 🤦‍♂️

I gotta say, that is probably the best handling MERV I have ever driven. 5k weight diff oil in the shocks, fixing the rear toe and larger tires completely changed how this thing drives. It doesn't even feel like a mini anymore. Now that I can turn without flipping over, confidently drive in a straight line at speed and the rear end doesn't bottom out anytime I drive over a mild crack in the road... I can actually get a feel for what oil to try in the diffs. I'm thinking ill start with 10k in the rear and 30k in the front... Hopefully that cuts down on the extreme amount of oversteer without sacrificing my turn radius. Given its size and wheel base, I probably will just have to deal with some over steer, but if I can tune a little out of it out, then why the heck not. Only complaint with running tires this large is the chassis can't bottom out... it's a matter of time until I blow the caps off the shocks. I'll have to cross that bridge when I get there 🤣

got the rear springs for the Mini Z and installed the yellow ones (stiff). gave it a quick semi test. problem is, it been so long sense i last drifted it i don't remember what it was like so idk if its any better...
Something prompted you to buy stiffer springs. If you didn’t need to buy even stiffer springs than what you just put on, I’d say it’s probably better than before. 😂

pretty sure a youtube video prompted me. cause stiffer rear and softer front makes for oversteer and according to the guru's on youtube that makes for better drifting.

Before work, messing around with a body on scx24, found this at a goodwill, it was way to big, but thought about cutting the cab off, so here it is, in a very early stage, has interior, made a tin piece for the back, still need to trim, I probably will paint it black once done with fitting.

Experimenting with number shadows. I actually like the larger shadow against the white the more I look at it.

Looks great man. Is the white laid on top of the blue? Or is the blue cut out where the white goes?

The white is layered on top of the blue. It can be a little tricky especially when my hands are shaky lol.

What body is that?

Aero1 it's used for SK Pan cars.
