Traxxas the way to go?

What’s the Traxxas equivalent to the Typhon?
Traxxas has yet to steal that design from Arrma. Give them time though. I bet they'll come out with one soon 😅

Just a jab at Traxxas because their Sledge and XRT is basically a ripoff of the Kraton 6s and 8s as far as looks.

If you want a monster, buy the 6S Kraton. It's a much better quality kit in my opinion. You don't see metal components like this in Traxxas kits. Granted, there is a lot of aftermarket stuff here. But it's always been an aluminum chassis vehicle, versus the plastic chassis that Traxxas uses for the counterparts. The Kraton is a tank!

@PainKiller , coming back to your post about Tekno only in a kit form: yes they are only in kits, but eBay sometimes has a decent deal. Just know that if you buy a roller/used car from eBay expect to go through the entir car checking bearings, rebuilding diffs, etc. etc. etc. I have purchased 2 teknos from eBay and I am happy with them, but I tore them down and refreshed them.
If buying used I would suggest purchasing from a member here or another forum for extra assurance that the car is in good shape.

@WickedFog just said it ☝️
Is Arrma that much better than Traxxas? Is Arrma just a higher quality and better value than Traxxas? I know I’ll have to judge for myself but I’m just curious about everyone’s opinions.

The 6S line... I'd say yes. The 4S and under, I'd say it's fairly even up.

I will agree. The 6s line has aluminum chassis plates & front pillow ball suspension vs C-hubs on everything else. The 6s line is so modular. All the 6s rigs can be cross compatible or mix n matched.

Yeah , that XRT looks huge in person. The guy said the X-Maxx was even bigger. What?!? How much bigger can it be?

And Tower Hobbies doesn’t carry Traxxas anymore? I’m sure it has something to do with the whole Traxxas policy hate thing.

The shop had some retro RC’s too. Ones I remember from 1987/1988 like the Lunch Box , The Hornet and The Blackfoot. Old school!
Yes, the Xmaxx is big, I can't work on it on my workbench, I have to set up a folding table.
It is a kick in the arse to run though.

Isn't the xmaxx just a little taller but stubbier than the XRT? I dont think I'd really call it bigger

Hobbytown in Kennesaw is open 7 days a week...and I've been thankful for that on more than one occasion already. They are staged and ready to take my $$$ lol

Seriously thinking about getting a Typhon tomorrow...I mean, I NEED a buggy in the collection, don't I?
The Typhon is a awesome buggy but I would stay away from the Mega version.
It needs upgrades right out of the box.

I've never seen the XRT up close and personal, but the Xmaxx is definitely huge.

This gives you a idea of how big the Xmaxx is.

Wow , that’s a big one for sure. A little bit too big for me right now at my current skill level. But if I did get it, maybe I could drive it to work a few days a week and save on gas 😃
