I am surprised about the weight of the Raptor...thanks for noticing that.
Pretty much the only weak link on the truck is the pull start. If it gets yanked too hard, the string may break. Some people have already fit "roto-start" or "shaft start" assemblies to the engine to make it easier to start. Our own should be out soon.
During testing overseas: over big (6' in the air or higher!) jumps or a big crash the motor may move over a little, and the spur gear will chip a tooth, eventually leading to failure of the spur if the mesh isn't re-adjusted. We include 2 extra spur gears just in case. Also during testing over large jumps, if the truck lands on an axle, it may bust the differential outdrive. We included 4 extras of those just in case. We've already redesigned them for the second batch so the extras will not be necessary eventually. If you're just playing with the truck normally, the above issues probably won't happen...but hey, we all like to jump over roofs and have our trucks survive, right?
The only things I would suggest checking periodically are the wheel nuts, slipper clutch adjustment (the pads wear in quickly), and brake shoes (they wear in, too). All of the above is mentioned in the included supplement. Silicone oil is used in the diffs.
Then there's a little bit of slop in the plastic here and there...those issues are being addressed. All the suspension parts are molded out of NYLON, contrary to what other people spread around.
Everything else is golden. The response to the truck has been pretty positive once people look at it as something other than a "savage copy". Look closely and you'll see it's fairly different underneath the chassis plates. While I can't talk about numbers, we've had more people calling and saying good things about the Raptor than tech support issues...knock on wood!
