At what point does a trail/crawler rig become a monster truck?
Wanted to do a go all out big build and I'm thinking it's become a monster truck.

I think the body sits way too high. You need to flip the shock mounts so they sit above the frame which lowers the body and frame.
Look at the angle on the driveshafts, bring it on down.

I do plan to lower it a bit. Going to ditch the shock towers all together. Right now I just have it setup at max and to get tire clearances. Have different wheels on the way to move the tires further out and then I'll lower it a bit. But for now I'm just enjoying the view😁 I still need to setup the electronics so I can play with it and see what adjustments I want to do. This one is probably going to be a shelf and photo queen. It's close to my all time dream rig.

Yeah, I think you are there, minus the MT tires. Because that reminds me of a Monster Jam truck fitted with its travel tires getting ready to be loaded on a trailer for a trip to the next show. But it looks pretty good like that. If it were mine, I would maybe put 10mm wider axles on it with tires about 15mm bigger diameter. Because it does look a little tippy.

For me, if I am building a crawler, it's all about the droop. If the shocks aren't completely compressed when sitting idle, it's not low enough.

If I were to build a trail truck/crawler, I'd be sitting somewhere around 75% droop.

But I also appreciate how an RC looks, even moreso than how it performs in some cases. It just depends on what I'm building. In the end, it's only you that an RC needs to please.

I spent most my life wrenching on stuff. I'm sure it will get transformed a few times. Nothing is ever finished because I constantly change my mind. I probably have more fun building and modifying than running them.
