I ever since this new amazing revolutionary transmitter from Spektrum was first announced i'm now thinking about maybe next year buying one of these next year. If you're wondering this is essentially a DX6R 2.0 but with some really advanced tech in it like hall effect sensors in the steering and throttle as well as a 4.5 Inch full color touchscreen with an Android software powering this much like it's predecessor the DX6R. As i said i might be looking into moving to this radio sometime next year to replace my Glitchey and troublesome Radiolink RC8X which i had big hopes for and ended in a lot of unnecessary issues as well as injuries to myself and damage to my trust in Radiolinks products. So next year if these radios are proven to work and be a solid product long term from the reviews and youtube rc channels i will mostly likely buy one and throwout\sell my RC8X and try to forget i even bought that radio when i should have bought a Spektrum DX5C.

Here's a video from Exocaged RC's channel about this radio.

looks like Spektrum has missed the mark on this one with a $700 price tag, doh!
Your just paying for the name and the "android phone" capability. Like why do I need a phone on my radio while I already have a phone?
Next radio that will come out, you would be able to call and text on it. And then the one after that, AI can control your car for you. Don't even have to touch the trigger! 😆

Industry standard has gravitated to the Fly Sky Noble NB4 with a price point of $300... looks like Spektrum has missed the mark on this one with a $700 price tag, doh!
I'm not interested in a Flysky my dad had a GT3B and it was worse than a Traxxas and Worse than my Radiolink. And i always wanted a high end transmitter and i plan to buy a few Arrma's and Losi's in the near future that come with receivers that will bind straight to this.

I had my NB4 for a week now and I love it. Best purchase I made. Top notch stuff.

I hear both sides of the GT3. @WickedFog and @Greywolf74 recommend it alot. And I have one in my cart right now. 🤔
Better grab one today.

I get where you're coming from, But both me and my bought cheap transmitters and regretted it and threw them in the trash or sold them for a huge loss.

I was right there with you, I stopped recommending the first gen junk from FkySky many years ago, I had too many failures of the 5 different models that I ran over the years.

Their latest generation of systems with antennaless Rx's are actually very high quality, many world class racers are running the brand now, you can see where Ryan's name is currently here:

80% of the racers (and myself) at the tracks I go to, are using the NB4 now. Its a really great radio. High end radio for half the price essentially. But if you still want a high end radio, I would go Futaba or Sanwa first before going anything Spektrum.
For the speed runners, I see alot with Futaba 7px's with range extenders.

Spektrum is not known for quality surface systems and has struggled making racers happy ever since I first got into club racing in 2010. Hopefully they can finally turn things around with this latest release, but I wouldn't be willing to take the risk for $700, they're gonna need to chop that price in half... I'm sure some team drivers will start showing up with them soon in my area and I'll definitely be asking them lots of questions ;)

I do not want another Futaba i already have an older 4PM and the reason i don't want another Futaba is that they don't gyro\avc in their receivers and no rtr's on the market have T-FHSS receivers in them. And in no way i'm going to buy a Sanwa the M17 has a counter intuitive interface and their receivers go up to $130 for each unit.

I remember a guy i used to watch had a Spektrum DX5C that he modified to use a range extender and had really good luck with. And Spektrum's new RTR radios like the DX3 i heard they were really good. My mind is set on Spektrum and nothing else right now.

I have a few Spektrum RTR radios. I really can't say anything bad about them. They don't have any extra goodies on them, but hey, they get the job done. One thing I do like about them is they feel really good in my hand. But I wouldn't pay $700 for this new radio. I'm with Bill. $350, yeah, maybe. But I would definitely wait and see how the thing is reviewed after it's been on the market for a bit first. That's just a lot of dough to throw at a new radio with a lot of new features in it.

I can definitely agree with you on that and that's my plan i was going to wait for the reviews to come out anyways. But for now i might try to keep working with my RC8X but so far i'm a little disappointed with how it's performed with the glitching and occasionally not connecting to a car but it's more i'm concerned about it long term. But eventually if this iXSR gets good enough reviews and if save up enough for it by next year and if my radiolink fully breaks i might get the iXSR next year. Thanks for the kind words.

Yeah. My buddy used to have a DX5C in his 22 5.0 carpet buggy. He changed to a 4pm plus futaba and he said it made a huge difference.

I got burned too many times with various Spektrum systems with glitches that I ditched the brand as bad as I did with FlySky, but I would eventually buy back into Fly Sky with the NB4 so I can't rule out Spektrum if they can finally get their act together... I've been holding my breathe on Spektrum for far too long, ha!

I want some of what you're smokin'. lol. I've been using the same GT3b since 2012. You can hardly beat it for the money. 98% of the time I use it over my MT-4S just because the receivers are cheaper. I mean if you want to drop $700 on a Spektrum TX then by all means do it but dont try to act like the FlySky's are junk. You might not like them but there are a multitude of users out there who love them.

Even if I was going to buy a Spektrum Id just buy the DX5 Pro for half the cost, but theres a reason that the majority of racers went from rocking Spektrums 15 years ago to the Flysky Noble. I guess if you have a stiffy for telemetry then I suppose I could see why youd want it but other than telemetry and an android OS thats about the only thing I can see that this radio has over other radios. Well theres the phone like full color screen but Id be curious to know if its like a phone screen because when you're outside if the bright sun, Id be willing to bet you'll have a really hard time being able to read it. That being said, that of course is speculation but I would bet on it. The T-FHSS also draws more current than FHSS5 so theres that aspect also if you're a racer.

Also you can get M17 receivers for as cheap as $61 which is $4 cheaper than the Spektrum SR515 receiver for the iXSR. Speaking of which, why does the iXSR, a 6 channel radio, come with a 5 channel receiver?

All just my opinion. At the end of the day, do what you want. :)

Aren't you supposed to be working? I'm tellin' Craig!

When you get it let us know what you think. I know it's too fancy for me, but am curious how it does.

(Twisted/demented ) People who race have different needs than those who back-yard / skate-park bash.

If you're consistently in the A-Main at sanctioned racing events, you have the skill to appreciate the fine tuning a higher end radio offers. Sloppy drivers, like me, appreciate easy adjustments of steering end points, brake/throttle percentage and multiple model memories... but there's no need for a high end radio to get those.
