Thanks for responding! The update is what got me more interested in it, plus the price drop! I did the update on my DX6R and I agree, it works perfect. I've started to add Horizon RC's to my fleet and wanted to give this transmitter a try. I have a bunch of Traxxas vehicles on one transmitter and use their app and I really enjoy it. Was hoping the same for the iSXR.
No problem, I was excited when this new radio first launched and it made me sell my Radiolink RC8X and buy a DX6C since i wasn't already into their system. Although i had used a Futaba 4PM but i needed something that would be compatible straight out of the box with Horizon vehicles and had some sort of gyro\stability control for my high powered on road cars. Hope you have a good experience with yours make sure to share with us on the forum.

For the price I would rather have the NB4.
RadioMaster MT12 is a far more capable and flexible radio for much less money. You use lots of different receivers which helps keep costs down too. There is a good amount of programing with MT12 though.
I don't remember if the MT12 works with Traxxas receivers.
I don't like Spektrum, Horizon or Google. They have dirty business practices and are more and more recently getting caught "cheaping out" and flat out destroying their own companies
Google is the AntiChrist. End of story. I will go back to twin stick radios with crystals before I allow one of these to spy on my rc time.
To each his own but do be aware, Google openly admits to gathering and collecting YOUR information.
I STRONGLY urge you to consider the permissions and the capabilities this thing has before you put it on your livingroom table or more importantly, what data its collecting from kids.
Not in my house... not even if it came with a box of $20's.
Noble just came out with an 11 channel that looks real nice too.
If your budget is unlimited, look to Futaba.

I'm going to do a little more research before I pull the trigger on it, I will indeed up you!

Good, Do your homework before pulling the trigger nothing worse that getting something i won't like when you get it. Also if you hear scare stories about the radio or Horizon or Google don't listen to them i've used their products for a long time and had no issues.

I looked at the RadioMaster unit and it is way more capable but also seems to have a huge learning curve. I'm looking for something a bit more "user friendly". Definitely looking into Futaba! As for the information collection issue you may want to unplug from the internet completely if you are that concerned! 😆

I looked at those radiomaster i personally do not want another cheap radio and it's also not very user friendly also it doesn't seem to suit what i need in a radio but my DX6C does. The only reason i moved away from Futaba it's insanely expensive for me stay with their systems also to get the new F-4G receivers it's $110 per unit vs an SR215 to SR6200A which is $39 - 83 the 6200 also has a gyro\AVC in it. But you need internet to update, imo just grow up an try to appreciate what's out their nowadays rather than looking ack at the past. I tried that with PC\Mac's but i like the new computers so much better.

Spot on regarding the receivers, that's another reason I'm interested in the iXSR. If I get a new arrma vehicle all need to do is bind and go!

I noticed in one of your comments you have a DX6R and you were able to update to use SLT receivers. I didn't think it was possible to still update those since i thought those radio went out of support years ago since i know they quit making them after i came back into the hobby almost 5 years ago. But that's cool i once i saw one on eBay for sale used but didn't buy since i was worried about support so instead i bought the worst radio i ever owned in my entire RC career an RC8X from Radiolink.

The DX6 R (Rugged) can be updated.

I live in the woods in Maine. I dont have internet in my home nor wifi or bluetooth products excepting a VERY few. 👍
Indeed, the internet can be an amazing tool and its use for our advancement and enjoyment would seem limited by our imaginations.
But its this instead.
My biggest concerm is that rc involves kids. Kids have no idea nor say in the information google collects.
The chromebooks google 'donates' to schools are also spyware. Ask how many kids used them and had NO idea.
Trust it or don't. Your call. 👍
I'm not trying to discourage so much as present options and my honest opinion.
@CJ RC has done plenty of research on this radio and Spektrum. He feels differently than I.
We have different needs👍😁

Well said @CertifiedMike my situation is different with my life i currently live in a suburban OKC neighborhood and have pretty good internet here. And most people don't need a radio like the iXSR or something like my Futaba 4PM they need something that works and works really well. I could see one of those MT12's working great for some and they are super flexible when it comes to options and i hear pretty good review on them. It's just not what i'm looking for in a radio and i have my DX6C which would be good for most.

Oh, i thought you said the DX6R the older android high end radio but i do know that DX6 Rugged can be updated. Sorry i misunderstood.
You are correct! I did type DX6R and meant to indicate Rugged. I downloaded the iXSR manual and went through it and it is feature packed for sure. I also reach out to Spektrum to see if the unit can be sent in for repair. I'm thinking of a cracked screen....

All good, I'm not sure about if they have a repair service but i can understand just in case of a broken screen. If you do pull the trigger on yours let me know i would love to hear about your experience so i can learn more about this unit and see if it'll be what i want. I'm hoping to start saving for mine this fall.

Will do my friend!
