I will try to keep this short but there might be a lot to explain. I posted about this a while back but came up with a new idea and wanted to know if it would work without interference.
I want to build a custom transmitter for my scow sloop "Elsie of Havre de Grace". I am not comfortable with gimbals and switching channels and so on. I plan on at least 8 servos to operate various functions on the boat. The servos will be operated by 8 different pots with control knobs built into the lid of a case. (Total 10 pots. 2 for future use) The problem being is that there are no circuit boards with 10 connectors for the pots. So I have another idea.
I have an old transmitter that I have taken apart and mounted inside the box but it only has connections for 5 pots. Matching receiver in boat. It does work. What I know want to do is buy another old used transmitter and receiver and mount the guts in the same box next to the existing circuit board to operate the other 5 pots with the second receiver in the boat to operate the other servos.
Is this possible without the 2 transmitters and receivers interfering with each other.
I made this simple drawing of what it would look like from the outside and inside if it is understandable. Thanks in advance.

Radio Master is the most flexible radio system I have ever seen. The software they use might be able to work with a bunch of pots at once.

I would look at their stuff to see if anything looks like it has potential.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your reply. Right now, I am just putting together some cheap, used equipment to see if it works the way I want it to. Once I get the boat out on the water and she sails according to plan (and hopefully doesn't sink) then I will install a better RC system. I just found an old functional transmitter and receiver online that is the same one I am already using. I think I am going to buy that for now and install it next to the current one. It costs about $20.00 so no great loss if it doesn't work. I just hope they don't interfere with each other.
Thanks again.

I finally made the transmitter I wanted and guess what? It works fine. It is not really a work of art but it functions exactly the way I want it to. Right now, there are only 3 servos in my boat. Enough for it to sail. More will come later but still need to figure a few things out. I will most likely be taking the boat out for a rest run in a few days. We'll see.

Can't post photos. Gotta figure that one out.
