Just the part sticking out catching dirt. I figured if it didnt work it wouldn't be that hard to get new 1s. Has been no issue
I would have guessed the molding of the plastic shock bodies/pistons were a bit off and at full compression of the shocks, the pistons got stuck at the top of the shock body. That was my experience, years ago, on a set of composite shocks for my Optima mini truggy transformation... very annoying.

I had an RC platform that came with a revision part to add more squish to shock x-rings. The original shocks came with no spacer between x-rings. Just that little piece of plastic (circled below) added enough squish to the x-rings.

Maybe instead of slicing an o-ring that is squished outside of a shock, a person sanding/shaving 0.5mm, or less, material off the spacer between the o-rings would not squish the o-rings as much when the lower shock cap is tightened down all the way. 🤷‍♂️

Anyways, I'm glad you got things up and running.
May you keep the dirt flying. 😎:thumbs-up:

Fair enough. It's a complete 10th scale for 100 bucks. I was focused on finding tweaks that would increase performance without turning it into a 500 $ car. A spacer to limit the shock from moving far enough to get stuck would also work I'm sure. The way it's currently set up has been a ton of fun. Orings are cheap, and available at the local hardware.

I have been watching this thread and the coolness of these cars. They are well worth the $$$ as far as I can see!
I thino I would have a tough time being 'good'.
I would likely turn it into the $500 car in no time. I would have a blast doing it too!

Don't let me stop you. Lol. They absolutely are worth the $$ all day. After a trip or 2 with mine down to the lhs they brought them and have sold at least 3 of them. I know no one who is complaining about what they got.

I started making these youtube videos to be able to share things here on the forum. Today when i open up the studio to upload this video, and youtube wants to have a big celebration about reaching 10 subs....good stuff, lol. Feel free to add to that number. This is just a quick run down of various changes i have made to this car from stock. Enjoy...or dont, but maybe watch it anyway.

3s next huh??? 🤔
I hope you make another vid for that!

It looks great running around out on the field! 😎👍
I tossed a 3s in there and tried it out in the yard here when I got home. Tough to keep the front wheels on the ground with that, lol. So I swapped in a 17t 540 and we shall go with 3s for the next run and see if I have found a nice balance between motor and voltage.

Sounds like fun! It will put your spur to the test for sure! 😎

Mechanically the car held up fine yesterday, electrically the esc needs a second update. After the battery gets down about 15% you get 1 good run at full throttle and it hits turtle mode. Off/on 1 good run ...turtle. the low voltage is set at 6.8v for 2s ....and I don't believe is asjustable.

So this is what happens to the wheel axle cups when you use really stiff springs in combination with 90mm shocks. 😆 Kyosho doesn't sell these separately so you have to buy the whole rear hub assembly. The set costs $20 but I could buy a whole RTR kit for $90. 😅

How long are the dog bones? I wonder if it would be better to run CVDs or universals.

Worn parts means they didn't break and you had fun wearing them out. I suppose this could be worse! 👍

You have a whole other side on those axles to use yet. 😁 :thumbs-up:
