Hello, I'm not sure how my kid did it, but the servo saver broke. I'm not sure where to get replacements. I also am not sure if this is a common problem and if I should upgrade the servo saver? or is that a bad idea?

Can I get some pointers on fixes or replacements?

Thanks

they can also be found from other sources.

Both links when I sent sent them said low stock. And now say out of stock. I guess when you see 1 you should buy it as fast as you can.

Always check Kyosho Japan. They typically have stuff that is hard to find in the US.

A lot of times the UK, Germany, etc has a good stock of Kyosho stuff.

This is a pretty common issue, usually caused by impact or wear. First step is to identify your car model and get the correct OEM servo saver replacement-most manufacturers sell them as individual parts.
I’d recommend replacing it with stock parts first, since the servo saver is meant to protect your steering servo. Upgrading can help in some cases, but only if you’re repeatedly breaking the stock one or running a high-torque servo. Otherwise, a stronger saver can just shift damage to other parts.
Also double-check the servo horn and steering linkage, since those can sometimes be mistaken for a broken saver.

I recently broke the plastic servo horn on my Sandmaster 2.0 as well. It seems to be a common failure point when you crash the front end of the vehicle into curbs, obstacles etc or have hard angled landings. The servo saver which is in the steering column on the 2.0 did its best to mitigate the damage to the servo. Even then the horn still broke which is good. If the horn was aluminum, the forces would've been transferred more to the servo and may have stripped the gears.

Has anybody upgraded to a high torque servo and different servo saver? I'm not sure what would be compatible and want to make this upgrade too.

I ordered one from ebay, waiting on that one.

In the meantime, I used JBweld yesterday and when I saw it this morning I was like "oh yea that's gonna hold for sure". Then during reassembly it broke.... I was surprised the jb weld didn't hold, I had it on the ends and wrapped around, it looked super tough. Guess I gotta hope all goes well with my ebay order.

I do know that it's probably just a matter of time before that one breaks so I do still want to find an upgraded high torque + saver combo.
