Next up the front portal axle.
First we trim all the parts off the the sprues with our handy dandy sprue cutters.
Next we pop in the bearings.
Musn't forget to stick in the pinion in, and lube it up with Smuckers raspberry jelly, or Lucas red n tacky, whichever you prefer.
Followed up with the ring gear.
Now on to the axles
BE aware at this stage, there are rwo different axle pin sizes that are very close in size. Of course me being me, I didn't notice this until after I assembed the axles, then had to unassemble the axles to swap in the correct pins.

Finally got everything back together and it's time to put the axles in the axle housing.
This is where I noticed my previous pin mistake, because the wrong pins don't fit in this step.
And here is where things went off the rails a bit. So now that I have the correct pins, what do I do? Yep you guessed it, I dropped one, 45 minutes and several choice swear words later, I have resigned myself to putting everything away until I can order a new pin set.
After I got everything put away for the night, I thought maybe I should double check my spares and see if I have anything that will work. Well being the mental case that I am, I had forgotten that I had lost a pin on my Sendero HD (El Diablo) and ordered replacements. As luck would have it it is the same part number and I have about six of them. YAY!

So as soon as I get another chance, I will get back on it, sooner than later this time, I promise.
