and some white and red spaz sticks

gonna try to do a splatter paint

waiting on the husky link high clearance links,
trying to pick a set of wheels for it, i gotta try to find a set that will work with the rocktek weights cause their already installed on the truck and i really want to try to give them a fair shot before i decide their janky.

12.3wb. which matches the fox, so its supposed to fit, but I'm sketchy, i have the anvil body, which is the exact same body but this one has the bed with it, the anvil body is kinda tight fitment, my sliders barely hold it in place, the sae with the power wagon body, the body that fits the best as is is actually the stock redcat ascent body,
I'm super hopeful i can do the paintjob justice, its not overly complicated, but the less is more is gonna kill me
then gotta talk @doom into making me a few decals for the body and I'm ready for the trails and the show n shine lol

i wont be trying to copy and paste but this is the general idea I'm going with, i think its gonna be sick.
and its going to contrast all of my other trucks, which all tend to be darker colored and cab only,

i LOVE my jconcepts tires. their my preffered brand it seems. but i am going to get a set of proline tires to fir the proline rock-tek, to give them their fair chance. i believe the tires sidelugs are giving me the issue of the rubbing. maybe with a set of prolines their wall will allow a more proper fitment.

I'm ALSO considering throwing the rock tecks on a different truck, and just getting the good old fashioned brass parts i need and then use the rims i originally got for the truck that wont fit the tek's.

regarrdless the killer needs new shoes!!!

i decided to NOT use the rock-tek system on the killer.
they wont work with my driving and environment.
so i was able to use the carbon fiber rim set i got for it.

they were quite possibly the easiest set of rims I've ever assembled. went together like a dream.
need to get some brass in a few places,
i have a small list of items i need to order
1: brass wheel hex hubs
2: silicone inserts soft
a few others but I'm running into a mental wall

i know all the bobs and bits for the ecto. but mines a straight axle
the fox is the newish element portal axles.
i gotta track down some brass portals that will fit the element portal.
I'm positive its different than an axial portal which is the most prevalent brass

gonna go the classic route if possible, still waiting on my high clearance links
waiting on the body and paint. also need to order another can of black backer, but thats mainly to add a touch of dark to the red, just gonna add a spurt of black to the red... man if only i had learned how to use the airbrush setup i ordered a year ago lololol, still in the box in the back room. classic

i have the idea but not the skills, and the onlyiest painter i know has a 2 month schedule, if i sent it to him for painting it will take me at least 3 months to recieve my body.... looks like I'm buying 2. one for me to attempt then one to send to be painted, gonna cost me over 100 for the paint then another 50 for the second body, then s&h... lookin glike its gonna cost me around 200 to get the body painted how i want it..
is it worth it is the new struggle....
on the one hand yes it is to me. on the other hand no it isnt to my wallet... so now the internal battle of decisions....

If you end up sending a body out for paint, make sure you get it trimmed, and mounting holes drilled, before you send it out. It will make your life easier.

i got the body and the paint in today, can't start on the painting untill later.
wish i had a cricuit machine so i could print out masking for the blood splatters, that would be really cool. as it is I'm going to try to cut out some masking tape and see what we can do.
that dam ai generated paint job looks so good, i almost wish i hadnt ever seen it so i wouldnt be comparing the entire time

i paid the deposit on the paint job, and ordered a new warlord body being delivered to the artist.
i also ordered a set of 4Pcs 12mm 1/10 RC Car Brass Heavier Wheel Hex Hub Adapter For Axial SCX10 90046 i didnt like the plastic wheel hubs, I've had bad experiences with rubbing them round. bwomp bwomp

I'm trying to find a whinch that will hide in the front of the comp fox. its a servo on axle so theres not a lot of real estate available, no premade spot for the second servo

i need to reorder a few parts i took from the ecto for the ecto, it was an absolute unit of a truck, and I'm not happy with it sitting disassembled the way it is, it DESERVES to have a new motor and its brass back on it. we both miss it.

I'm not comfortable driving the truck without a body, and I don't want to throw a janky-looking body on it for fear of someone seeing it on the trail lol.
no more spending for this week.

even tho the set of tires for the big rock are looking at me forlornly lol... next week possibly

i decided to go ahead and make an attempt at the paint job, not sure about it.
I'm currently in between coats. the red is too red, i thought if i added a black backer it would darken it up a bit, but its still looking bright.
and i didnt even attempt the words. thats well beyond me.
next comes peeling the masking tape and applying the white for the boy, i sadly ran out of black, i want to do the bed in black but its not looking like thats in the cards

just ordered some magnetic body mounts


so i finished the paint and applied a few decals, not 100% satisfied with it, but ittl do for the body i mess up then the nicer body will be when hes on a shelf.

oooo I've since added about 5 coats of white, almost the whole can. its starting to look kinda decent, not bad for the rough draft so to speak.

Guess I liked the clear bed more than I was thinkin....I just ordered the Bitty Rock 1 body with the full bed instead of my original cab only plan. Not gonna paint inside of the bed

heartbreak!!
i got my club5 high clearance links for the comp fox. got them assembled, as per usual they are amazingly easy to assemble. but when i went to swap them out... the factory links give more clearance!! what the hail???
so i decided NOT to swap them out, guess i have another set of links for the link bag lol. i can't bring myself to return them since they shipped me the second set (first being lost in the mail) and i do enjoy a good tinker. I'm sure ill find some way to use them in the future.

I'm just waiting on my magnetic body mounts to get her so i can take this truck out for a crawl, i am in the market for some brass for these element portal axles, anyone know wher i can find a set?
I'm waiting on a set of brass wheel hex's and need to order a set of internal wheel weights, the kind that look like disc brakes. but id love a set of portal axle housings.

Oh thats a bummer! Does the Comp Fox come with the Factor Team high clearance links? I have the FT links on my modded Enduro, and they are great, lots of clearance.
