I'm thinking maybe Phil Collins. 🤣
"I can feel it, still sitting on my bench tonight, oh lord, oh lord." To the tune of "In the air tonight".

I didn't see that one coming.

I'm the 'lost it man' ( Rocket man)
Dropped it maaaaannnn
Dropped it on the rug
and now that little screw is gone for good.
Mars ain't the type of place to race RC
Shipping costs are nuts.
And there's no one there tooooooo race them, if ya did.... 🤷‍♀️

Move over Weird Al!!! 🤣

Yesterday I was too wiped out from work this week, and today I just wasn't in the right frame of mind. :( 🤷‍♂️ gotta be feelin' it to enjoy it.

I should change the name of this thread to 1001 reason's Doom can't work on his Comp Fox. 🤣

I'm sure most of us understand that! 🫤

You just summarized my entire RC experience since entering my 30s.

An almost update. 🤣 I ordered paint for the body....hey it counts as progress! 😜
Body? Body for what? I didn't know you were even thinking about putting together a new crawler.... which one is it?
:stick:

Ok, how about a proper update. Back to work.

First up portal steering plates. Replacing the kit plates with Artful Dodger plates as per @MVRCA 's suggestion. The artful Dodger plates are on the outside ( for comparison)

All snugged in place.

Next was the servo mount and servo. And that finished up the front portal axle.

Next up.....rear portal.

Rear portal, making progress.

Not going to show each step, as it was the same as the front portal.

Finished rear portal axle.

And that concludes todays progress.

Awesome!
Well done!
:thumbs-up:

First chance I've had to sit down and focus on something in a while. Hope I get another chance soon.

Back to it :)

These two steps are pretty much just assembling, and attaching the lockout links for the rear axle.

Next up is mostly links, I went ahead and assembled all of the links at once.

Front upper links
If you look in the image on the right hand side, it shows two ball links going into the center of the axle where the links go. This is another mistake as there aren't enough ball links in the kit. There are however plastic spacers, which is what I used.

More linked goodness
PSX_20260208_172713.webp

PSX_20260208_173538.webp

This step has errors, the straight rod end should be a curved rod end. They do not give you enough straight rod ends. Lots of little mistakes. Some of the completed link measurements are also incorrect.

Mounting motor to bottom skid, not much to it.
PSX_20260208_172932.webp

Attatching links to center skid, easier to do if you dont try to do it positioned in the chassis like they have it. Once again a mistake in the instructions, the grease should not be on the rod ends, it should be on the set screws to help them go onto the Delrin skid.
PSX_20260208_184653.webp
PSX_20260208_173018.webp

The set screw have to travel a long way into the delrin skid. This is a difficult step. I actually broke a set screw and had to order another one, so I am back on hold until it arrives. I got real lucky, actually it wasn't the set screw that broke it was my hex driver (snapped off inside). There was just enough screw left showing that I could grab it with my pliers and back it out. Two more turns and I would have been SOL. I wonder if heat might have helped?
PSX_20260208_173615.webp

Now I'm waiting for the set screw and a new hex driver. 🤷‍♂️ But, hey, I made some progress even if I was hoping to get a little further today. That's it until next time. :)
