hi guys not sure i fully understand the orion iq605 charger

today i was charging my 3s 5000mah lipo's

i was charging at 5.0a (1c)
to start the voltage was 3.5 ish
this was filling up as is should on all 3 cells at around 4/5 amps it got to 4.20v within the hour
but the capacity's was on 3680 ish but didnt stop charging (it didnt go past the 4.20v per cell tho)
the amps did drop to around 0.4/ 0.5a but the charger carried on to the 120min cut off
so i took them off charge

this is going to sound really thick i know

when charging does it charge to the 4.20v and then i need to take them off charge
or does it have to fill the capacity to 5000mah before it stops

the charger is new but the lipos are old

i also tried this on a normal charge and a balanced charge but was getting the same results

are my lipo's fully charging even tho the capacity is not near the 5000
but the volts are correct at 4.20v

or was the capacity showing what was need to top it back upto 5000mah

little bit lost and being new to this dont help

thanks for any help anyone can give

i did try searching but wasn't getting the info i needed soz

cheers baz

yes thats normal, It's about constant current and constant voltage when charging, My iq605 is the same. if you google the constant current charge and constant voltage charge you will find something more about it.

Your charger only charged 3680 mah becasue there was still 1320mah in the battery. It doesn't show the batteries total mah only what it needed to put in the battery to fill it up. Hope this helps.
