General RC Information
Twin Invaders (I and II).
The OG was built in Fall 2019. Invader II was birthed in the Fall of 2022, with Invader I being retired momentarily. That original chassis wound up being the base for Incinerator (67 Chevy II). Invader I was then resurrected as a "spare parts build" and very slowly upgraded into a top line car.
Invader II saw a number of changes since 2022, a variety of different power plants (SH .28-8, Hyper 30t, OS R2104) as well as some varying paint schemes (began with the black with green accents, then a two-tone green/black look, then back to the original black with green and some added touches). At one point the car was fitted with a variety of add-ons like a working trans brake and parachute and topped out around 6.7 lbs. All of that was then deleted to get the weight down to 5.4 lbs. In the Fall of 2023 a working nitrous oxide scramble button system was added and this prompted a change to the much higher revving R2104 engine.
Invader I initially was running a KE 25SP2 but switched to the SH .28-8 engine. The SH engine proved to be difficult to manage, so a change to the Hyper 30t came and the car has now become much more stable and consistently very fast.
Both cars are running big tires which have proven to be great for hard launches.
