Yesterday, I received some upgrade parts my SCX24s. So, late last night, I installed a full set of extended axle shafts/stubs onto the green Deadbolt. Also added brass extended hexes, a front brass diff cover, and different wheels and tires(RC4WD steel wheels and Scrambler tires). It's got a serious spread now!
I've also been running it without shock springs. I think I kinda like running it this way, since this rig is more about rock crawling rather than trail running.

On this Xmas Eve morning, I installed brass steering knuckles to the Jeep. Decided to cut off the fake shock reservoirs, and flipped the shocks upside down.View attachment 139500

That is going to have a lot of scrub steer, which is really hard on the servos as they have to drag the tires around when turning.

I've been itching to try it myself.
The issue I am having is, my Baja is a Q Baja conversion so there isn't any clear bodies available for it. Pre-painted yes but I want a clear.
Is there any way possible of removing the pre-painted finish? This may be a stupid question and I've never seen it done.

I am trying something right now. Super Clean from Walmart will remove chrome finishes from plastic parts, and it also removes anodize. I am guessing it will also remove paint from plastic. When you get it on your skin, it feels like when you get bleach on your skin. Not sure what is in it, but it is a degreaser. Will report back in a bit.

It depends on the body. My test is with acrylic paint. I will spray some Tamiya paint on a shell here in a bit and try some oil based as well. I may put a drop in one of the Krayton bodies and see what it does to that.

Another method I have read about is WD-40. Spray the body, then seal it up in a bag like a trash bag or big Ziploc. Not sure how long it takes, but supposedly the bidy came out looking like new.

I might order a regular pre-painted body for the Q Baja and try to strip this one. If I screw it up, I'm covered.
