I got a savage x with everything but a motor mainly for bashing but with the occasional trip to the track I want something with good torque but i don't wanna get blown away if I'm in a parking lot I'm thinking OS .30 or Lrp .30 but idk I'm trying to keep it under 200 your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'd prefer something I could just bolt up an go

Okay nevermind I know what I'm getting. I'm gonna get the new lrp .32 it sounds like a beast 4.3 HP!!!! That's nuts but anyway I've never bought a new engine I don't think they come with a fly wheel an cluch so is there certain kinds for different engines or how does that work?

The clutch parts are all interchangeable. Don't get caught up in the HP hype, that engine will be lucky to pull a solid "2HP" and may hit 30Krpm on the very top side of a WOT pass in a savage. Some company's should be ashamed for blatant lies about these HP and rpm claims.

I agree none really put out that much either. Yes they are good engines but no where near 4.3hp.

It might not hit 33000 rpm or have 4.3 HP but my buddy has a lrp .30 in his savage an is BA. I found the .32 for the same price as the .30 so I'm gonna try it out.

There is a dyno sheet floating around showing some actual # of some top brand mills and you would be surprised .

From another site, here's an entire list of all the engines tested on the X-Dyno. Please note that you are looking at peak numbers which is great for marketing, but does not tell the entire power characteristic of the engine.

Please whatever you do stay away from the HPI 5.9. I have one and its been a tuning nightmare. When i was able to get it started it was powerful, but i was chasing the tune and if it cut off it would be a pain to get started again, even when it was warmed up. I put my K4.6 HO that was sitting on the shelf for two months and it started right up and ran till it ran out of fuel. I'm looking to get an LRP .30 myself. As for the 5.9, i think I'll make it my $200 ash tray. Now I'm off my soap box.

Picco 28 is a great engine i have 2 of them one about to get modded the other I'm keeping stock to see the differences. My 2 choices would have to be lrp 30 or picco 28
