I was around in 2000, in the 90's, 80's, and some of the 70's. I had a Tmaxx and at the time it was cool. No where near as cool as the ICONIC XMAXX though. There's lots of threads on here of peeps building Xmaxx's. Everyone I know that's into RC has one. It's the single most popular truck at nearly every RC meet I go to. You can hate on it if you want. Doesn't change the fact that it's an RC Icon.

I think he meant he owned one in the late 90's and 2000's, The T-Maxx didn't launch until 1999 also Traxxas wasn't founded until 1986. I one time watched a history video about Traxxas and it's interesting how they started with a simple ready to run car concept to the world's fastest RTR car can you guess which one that was? I own one.

I was being sarcastic.
Correct. 1999. I remember those days. Used to buy rc magazines around 99 or 2000. Friend had a nitro sport in 2003. I got my first traxxas 2007. The oldest traxxas i have is a mid 90s nitro stampede with a tan chassis. I remember drooling over the trx srt, and the og 4tec on the shelves. 🤣

The cat the car your referring about?
All my cars are in my about me. I only sold one, a hpi e10 first year.

The cat yes that was their first ever release but also i mentioned their fastest RTR model and it's the XO-1 i own one myself. Here she is.

They also had the Nitro 4-Tec 3.3 which was their previous fastest RTR. Which i wish they were still making i would totally get into nitro for one.

I went from cox to kraken for crap sakes , I don’t know why everybody sees the sand buggy as just a sand buggy , like any other toy ,,,, make it what you want it to be like I said tire changes would be a great start but ya , the price is stupid , but there is a lot of differences in the thing from all others Traxxas money traps

I always wanted the nitro 4tec, jato in yellow, and a revo in yellow. @WickedFog gave me his jato and I can't wait to fire it up. Might look for tge other two one day l, ofcourse the 4tec would be shelved.

You should try a nitro. It's a different feel.

that has to be regional. iv never seen one in person, never even seen one in stock at a hobby shop, never herd anybody local even talk about one.
iv seen some threads, but it's nothing like the way the tmaxx was 25 years ago. hell from where I'm sitting the slash was/is a bigger deal than the xmaxx. idk we'll see in 20 years.

That's what i worry about with the 4-Tec nitro since there is very little parts support for it and i already have quite a few on road cars that are fast and awesome. Currently i'm looking into buying my very first Tamiya kit a Super clod buster black edition later this year depending on how things go on. I also have my eye on my dream radio the Spektrum iXSR i already have a DX6C which i mainly bought as a place holder until i get the iXSR. And at some point i want to get my Outcast 8s EXB going so decisions decisions on what to save up for.

I have an idea to get a Losi 5ive-T in the future and it might be my first Gas powered vehicle but who knows.

Curious how the RTR electronics are in this truck. Does anyone have any idea based on other Traxxas models with similar servo etc...???
Curious how much more it will cost to replace all that stuff too.
The price on this thing is just too high. 🙄
Same stuff as the X-Maxx and XRT the VXL-8s ESC paired with Velineon 1200XL motor, TQI radio but i think the new sand car has the 2085X or XL servo in it but overall same usual Traxxas junk. In my 2nd X-Maxx i replaced my VXL-8s with a Spektrum Firma 160 V2 (HW Max 6 G1 rebrand) also has my DX6C with an SR315 radio system and a new stock servo which was the 2085. I had a stock servo fail on me and the stock TQI started glitching or losing signal 2 years ago so i first replaced it with my Futaba.

Ya , I’m sorry saw it after , somebody call the fun police
Don't be sorry. I'm the one who should be sorry. I'm sorry you fell victim and singled out for making a thread on a particular RC platform that already has a wrongly categorized thread on it... ;)

Around here, you are likely to find dozens of threads started on one particular RC platform.

I was flipping through you tube today and ran across an add for a big drag race , the add had a Traxxas sand buggy set up as a drag car , hey ! When I’m right I’m usually lucky ? But that’s what I said , put drag tires on it and it’s a drag car so now it’s a 2 trick poney !! 😂🤣😂🤣

I can’t tell if it has front brakes or not , or if it’s 8s capable or if it will do wheelies for blocks or if it can be a drag car , I just can’t tell 😵😂😵😂I have two of those trucks and they are great rigs kinda like these things

I keep investimagating this thing , I have high respect for the park flyer guys and there opinion is the same as mine basically , I’m financially ready to pull the trigger on this thing , anybody looking for a great used rc let me know I’ll be selling a few

I was completely on the fence here then my LHS , owner needed some bobcat work done at his ranch , I spent 3 hours helping him out and the Traxxas thing is on its way , I’ve done construction and all that comes with it all my life and the barter dealings have always helped in someway I’m very fortunate with this and the connections I’ve achieved , I still owe on the thing but it was a deal I couldn’t refuse still being a child n all
