Aka "The Ghost of ECX", because that's what holding this thing in my hand made me think of. Think Gorgon, but now a short course truck, it's a brick with gears in it and things screwed into it.

Has anyone seen one in the flesh? What are your thoughts on this budget compitor to the Traxxas Slash XL5?

I've seen one. And the new Vorteks. On Monday I stopped at HobbyTown Augusta & saw them. Nice RCs. I'm guessing the Fury would be tougher, no doubt. The Vorteks is a really cool looking rig. Not bad for entry level. Fury has very cush suspension.

Probably won't break the Fury, except the body. Pretty thin, like the Gorgon. The drivetrain can handle 4s. Nice layout & design. I'm sure it would be a fantastic 2wd SCT RTR. Brushless, it would need a little help with the front shocks.

Its a bit like the Rustler and the Slash, one of them will jump better and the other will be better at ramming into things.

I was looking at these the other day and just too much plastic, too many bumps on the body, and too many brushes 😆 🫣. Just my opinion. For someone looking to jump into the hobby... they should be perfect. If they offered them (the Vortek anyway) in a kit @bout $140, I'd buy one today!

149.99 RTR! Throw in that super savers coupon and you're below 140

That’s actually a crazy impressive price tag for RTR name brand hobbygrade car.

Must… not… buy…

I sure Arrma will sell a crap ton of those 2wd Mega rides at that price.

Will the planetary diff in these cars fit in the Arrma granite voltage??
Nope. Different spur gear & diff. The diff is 30mm wide on the gear face & the spur drive & also has 3 bearings where the Voltage has 2, & is narrower. It might all swap in, dunno-but would be cheaper to buy a Gorgon, or the new Fury or new Vorteks.

I just wanted to see if anybody knew if this is possible because at one point there was a 3s system in it, and got a few passes in it before the trans nuked itself and the rubber blew clean off the rims. After that its been blowing up those stupid plastic pieces that connect the driveshafts to the diffs. Just wanted to know if that was possible so that way I could change the gears so that way they were more durable and allow me to put different axles in it.

Thanks for the help @332_RC.

Same here, too much plastic and too many parts intergrated that really shouldn't be (shock towers, transmission).

Thay being said, the shocks looked beefy and the tires felt pretty good for RTR. I'd take one over any of the smaller "Hyper Go" stuff.

I can deal with pretty much deal with a lot of weirdness and thankfully Arrma didn't go with pressed in shock shafts like used on some earlier 4x2 models. I also said in other threads that I'm done buying any more RCs. It's going to take a lot of awesomeness to change my mind. 🤔 😆
