Hey yall I got an arrama fury for Christmas just this last year and it ran well for the 5 times I ran it then it started doing this thing were it would run fine then the motor would stop working but the car was still on and could turn I got told maybe the switch between lithium and copper zinc whatever could have been switched but I made sure it was on the right one then I was told the slipper nut was too loose so I tightened it a little at a time and it just kept getting worse so I tried loosening it but it didnt get any better I also pulled the first gear in the transmission off so it was just the motor gear and I tried holding that to see if it was the clutch but the motor still cut out it seems like the motor just cuts out whenever it has a load on it

its the brushed version right? if so, the motor might be burnt out

I'm not sure if it is how do I check? Its basically brand new maybe driven 7 times?
can you take some photos of the truck? a brushed motor only has 2 wires coming out of the back, while brushless has 3. If the truck is super fast when it works too, its most likely brushless

It only has 2 wires on it
It is a brushed system. The rtr brushed stuff is designed to be a consumable, so without any videos or photos I would have to guess the motor is shot, or you managed to swap the esc to lipo mode and it is hitting low voltage cutoff. have you charged the battery and tried again?

I just had it charged and like a month ago I recharged the battery and it still did it then to give me a minute to get some pictures

This is what it looks like

Battery needs to be 100% before any testing or diagnosis can be considered accurate.

What brand, voltage and capacity is the pack you are using? Is it also new?

Does the motor rotate freely?

How about the truck with the motor out? Does it roll smoothly? No binding, nothing locking up?

Do you get any flashing lights on the esc when the problem happens?

Does the problem happen right away or after a few minutes drive time?

Also, does the motor work independently. While its out in your hand I would turn it on and check with the throttle so there is nothing else in the drivetrain that could be binding etc.
It works when i am holding it but if I hold the gear coming straight off the motor it dies immediately

It was at 100% when I went to use my rc car last night I pulled it straight off the charger into the car it is whatever battery that came with the arrama fury car that I got for Christmas the motor spins freely and so does the car when the motor is out nothing is binding I do get a red flahing light on the esc by the switch between lithium and nickel battery I also made sure that switch is on the nickel one because thats what came with the car just this Christmas it started out where it would drive for a minute or 2 then stop and its progressively been getting shorter now its to the point I can't drive it more than 2 feet without it stopping

This is a 223 Fury, correct?

Verifying voltage with a meter is better than going by what the smart charger might think.

Do you have a meter to verify?

Are your radio batteries fresh as well?

Couple of things to try. Be sure your throttle trim is set to zero (neutral) before you turn the radio on and power the truck. )

The red light. Does it start flashing as soon as you plug in the radio?
If not, when does the light flash?

Have you tried to rebind the radio?

I do not see a recalibration proceedure in the manual I looked up for this truck. Rebind may also recalibrate the radio.
Calibration might happen at each power on. I am not sure.

I assume you have been running it in dirt etc? If you have some of this, I would blast the inside of the motor to clean it out. It's possible there is something on the brushes making for poor contact.

Do you have another motor you could hook up to it to see if that works? If it does it is more likely an esc/remote issue.

If he has the same fury I do it came with an slt2...no throttle trim, just 50/75/100
