I'm looking for vintage steel (looking) wheels for an SCT project. Who's making those at the moment?

Lots of complex alloy-likes out there, but I'd like something that looks like this:

Love the look, exactly like that. Are they 2.2/3.0, though?
No. Like 1.9 I think. I completely missed the SCT project part. The pics caused my ADD to act up.

I mean the project is an SC10B so you’re not too far off 😅.

I’m following a post on Reddit where the owner used 1.9 crawler rims and they look surprisingly cool.

Maybe the scorpion isn’t an automatic no 🤔

Those are great, thanks @Jerold

I’m a little unsure that printed wheels would hold up to racing. The DE Racing Borrego wheels are definitely candidates for painting.

I don't know that I've ever seen any dished SCT/SCB wheels that resemble your pictures. Short course has always been about holes and spokes  Maybe it is because for the longest time the "rules" did not allow "dish" wheels... wanted to keep the class scale-like in appearance to what the full size counterparts were running at the time. That's what I love about short course trucks. The wheel offerings from DE Racing and JConcepts (with covers) are the only 2.2/3.0" dish wheels I know of.

Ah, yes. The great SC10B... what an off-road buggy should look like ;):thumbs-up:. I am glad you brought up the platform again. I was keepin' my fingers crossed when Losi, Pro-Line, Kyosho, and AE put out their SCB (DB Kyosho) platforms.

…and it shares basically all the parts with the SC10 of the same era.

In an alternate timeline, those gorgeous things are what the 2WD buggy class became, instead of splitting into the bug-eyed cab-forward 1/10 and super-wide 1/8 classes we have now.

I might have three SC10Bs in various conditions waiting in the queue after my SC10 build. Almost like the SC10 was about practice and parts sourcing… 🤔
