My delivery people here are actually REALLY good. And my local post office is pretty awesome. But I live in Indiana, and EVERYTHING I order USPS goes through Indy, and packages have been delayed by as much as a month there since Christmas. The entire USPS needs a hard reset. When I order things from China it takes 48 hours for them to process the order, get it to a port and have it hit the US. Then it takes 3-4 weeks to go from one end of the US to me.
Since this is the appropriate thread and I can rant, I'm going to. USPS employees in my area at least, are the laziest bunch of workers I've ever met. They don't even put in enough effort for minimum wage IMHO... All the people working inside at the 3 USPS locations near me should all be fired and replaced. Every single one of them. If it wasn't a federal job, none of them would even have a job. I'm sure management is too lazy to actually fire anyone actually, since that would require them to do their job. I wish more places would allow me to choose FedEx or UPS over USPS because I would every single time. Most of the time though it seems USPS is the only option which is unfortunate. I would actually hesitate to put USPS down on my resume if I worked there.
To be clear, I'm not upset because my packages take a few days extra to get delivered. I'm not a child and have patience. My issue is when I get a notification that my package couldn't be delivered because the mailbox is obstructed when I've been home all day, never saw a USPS truck and you could pull up a full size city bus in front of my mailbox with room to spare. They just didn't feel like doing that part of their route and lied. The best is when you actually try to mail something in the physical location... it's like watching a sloth move.
Anyways, rant over.
