Ok, so here i am out running my slash on the 3s for speed runs, and after putting some more weight on the front, i was able to keep 4 wheels on the ground somehow. I managed to hit 71! Here is my tqi dashboard for proof!
slash top speed 71.webp

So now I'm asking you, what are your top speeds?

3s with a slash and 71! Thats insane! You sure it's actually 71 though? The Traxxas TQi measures speed by the motor rpm/sensor I'm pretty sure it doesn't measure it by gps so if you take account for drive train loss, the overall speed could be less. Not totally sure though, haven't used a Traxxas app before.

I use a cheap bike speed gps meter from Amazon on mine, I think it's called XOSS, and with the pro4, slash and rustler they all go about 37.5/38mph. That being 2s and 4000kv. Should put it on the Typhon. I would expect it go probably like 35. With that being stock gearing, stock 2050kv motor with a regular 4s. Typhons are super heavy.

Skyrc gnss is the most accurate GPS for recording speed and also shows you more info like drag stats. It's pretty cool, but expensive.

73.4mph with my Limitless before it amped out. TP motor pulls 209-225amps easily & that ESC couldn't handle it. MMX8S installed, tested, calibrated, yet to full pull run. MMX8S pushes 399amps & it's geared for 110mph. Telemetry unit installed in chassis, runs off SR6110AT through a X-BUS, grabs SATs, & sends info to the DX6C, right on the screen.

ooh cool. yeah not 100% sure the tqi is 100% accurate, but i think it does account for drivetrain loss a bit because i gunned it sitting on my stand, so its not actually moving, and it said 84! pretty crazy how fast these things go. 30k+ rpm.

thats crazy! i bet its smoking esc's left and right if you have it ready for 110!

I tried a Spektrum 160a. Did four runs. Runs fine to 65mph. Handles it, until I ramp the throttle all the way to full. About 2-3 seconds later, buuuuu, ESC amps out. Loses all throttle & reverse. Not good. I hit the curb. The ESC didn't burn, it would still run after a power cycle, just shuts down at 70+ upon full trigger. I've bench tested the MMX8S, bound to a stand, like a dyno, & it doesn't have any trouble or fear of the TP4050 1950KV motor. It SCREAMS. The spot I run, got gated. I need 1000ft minimum to run. Still scouting a appropriate spot. And I had to rebuild the front end. RC life.

Wow! 115mph! Nice!

What rig?? @Warby
Man, its been a while. More than likely it was the Limitless which I was still getting dialed in. Never got to it full potential. But I was also running the Typhon. Think I had the Typhon maxed out on its current setup.

I'll have to check the chart on my sons phone when he gets home.

Edit: think it was the Typhon as we were still testing the Limitless.
