I have a small silver one from Dynamite... I'd really recommend you steer clear. It seems to always reset itself to Celsius, will often tell me it's out of range and then the next minute give me the proper reading (nearly 150' below its max range). The vibration of a running engine seems to bug it out quite a bit. Going to wrap it in an old bike tube to dampen any vibration from hitting the side of the cooling head.

You should try this one.:D

That's the one. On my 2nd one, the first one went completely dead on me. Tried new batteries and still nothing. LHS gave me a replacement, same small problems though. The Losi one with a tuning driver looks genius!

Yeah, tell me about it, that's what I thought and now that I know you have had problems with the Dynamite one, which is the one I wanted to get, I will probably go with the Losi one.:first_place:

Infrared Thermometer

I just picked this one up from Harbor frieght http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=93984

cost 24.99 minus Harbor frieght coupon 20% off any one item coupon http://www.harborfreightusa.com/usa/...9&keycode=0000

I like it so far, but I just got it, and have not abused it yet:hehe: we will see if it stands up to life in a R/C tool box.

By the way blown 67 thanks for coupon link, worked like a champ!

Thats cool, I'd like to hear how it works, I have a store local so I'm thinking of picking up the same one.

So far so good. I've had this one since last season and it hasnt let me down yet.

Hey taz I would not recomend the one in your link the range is not high enough

SPECS:
Readings in Fahrenheit (-27° to 230°) or Celsius (-33° to 110°)

But the one I posted range is higher

SPECS:
Temperature range: -27 to 482°F (-33° to 250°C)

If your engine is running hot you will need a higher range to tell, 230 degrees aint enough

Well, I got my PE-1 in the mail today from A Main Hobbies. Hopefully, I'll be able to get out and run the car a little this weekend. If I do, I'll let you know what I think of it.

Actually, I don't think my engine is running hot, then again I don't know....I don't have a temp gun yet:D.....but it shouldn't be above 230° anyways, should it ?
