slicks on a short course truck just feels wrong
I'll go one step further... slicks on any off-road RC are wrong.
As much as I hated it, I'll admit to doing it. After indoor loose clay (baseball infield) type track switched to on-road carpet, the closet off-road track to me was Bumps-N-Jumps. Hard pack high traction clay demanded slicks to get hooked up... 😵‍💫

i come from the 90's when carpet wasn't really a thing and even high end clay tracks weren't groomed enough to require slicks. nobody sauced tires, just occasionally trimmed treads. i miss 90's tracks. marbles in the corners, divots on the landings, V's developed in face of jumps. there was more than one racing line.

marbles, divots, Vs and multiple lines are still around. they didn't stop in the 90's

my only complaint is that almost everyone is running Tekno. The yellow TLR (with associated stickers) did great and it's a 10 year old chassis iirc. There was one other AE 4x4 with belt drive, about 10 years old too i think. Everything else was Tekno. I like seeing more variety.

Ran the Kraton 4990 until it broke the servo arm. Charged two 6s packs. Broke during 2nd pack. Datalog, if I set it up right, said I did 65mph, & not sure if I even got it all the way out. Found several jumps & terraces to hit. This thing rips! Went to the recreational department. These pics are half of what I had to run on. Plenty of space.

it stopped around me. the last indoor clay track i had local to me (now closed) was smoother than pavement. it had an indoor mister system that got turned on every so often and leaf blowers in the corners that got used to blow the dust and marbles out of the racing line after every 4 minute heat. it was so hard packed, had so much sauce on it, rubber would build up in the corners. that kind of surface and "maintenance" seems to be what racers want in a racing surface these days. i think that's one reason why carpet is becoming so popular.
makes me sick

Ahh that stinks. We still wet our track a few times a day but it's not sealed with anything. We blow the track maybe once or twice a session
We had 80 entries on Saturday so the debris would build up quick. I guess I'm spoiled with my local track

I still see life left in that body....

Did they just rip the body off the body mounts!?!? Traxxas cars are getting weaker and weaker every day I guess.
If you knew the punishment this slash has been thru in the last 6 months, you'd change your statement lol
