Last night I installed the new all black LCG chassis and put in the stock servo and hopefully I don't break those pegs again. I put in the rustler rear end since I put the 272R from the slash in the rustler. Right now it sits as a roller and will be used for extra parts for a few weeks until I can get motor and esc for the B74.

Your paint job reminds me of the old AMC racing livery. Pretty cool 😎

Build update!

I raced this the beginning of August for a carpet club race. I also raced at Beach RC

And I also did some track practice with it a couple weeks ago

Yea, the bashers are basically turning into fun club racer builds. Getting more into racing day by day. I think it would be good starting out with these, for fun, and then later Ill upgrade to a comp / race kit. Either a SC6.4 if I wanna keep doing 2wd. Or a SCTE, or Tekno SCT410.3 if I want to do 4wd, most likely 4wd as it is more popular.

The tires I have now for carpet are Schumacher Mini Pins (Blue) Front and Rear, with DE racing Traxxas offset wheels. Been using these since 2016 (First race:
)
These tires had a lot of grip on the new track, what I did is cut 2 rows of pins on the outer and inside sidewall on the front tires. I might do the same for the rear. If I were to get new tires, id either go for pin down / swagger or fuzz bites / swagger setups for carpet. Will be running JConcepts smoothies for indoor clay. And Ill run a offroad basher type tire for any dirt tracks, which I'm planning on visiting some next summer.

For the shocks I am using 40wt rear and 50wt front, so slow the car down, to turn faster, as before in the first video, I was using 35wt front, and the car had too much body roll. I came down the straight, I had to turn slowly to actually turn and try not to traction roll, and the other car is already behind me. Might need a more speedy-er servo?

If I do keep the car, and still race it, might do race esc/motor. Here is my thoughts: XR10 Stock Spec / V10 13.5 motor or 10BL120 G1 and V10 13.5 motor. 13.5 just to keep it for a spec or open class. Depending on the esc, might go down to maybe an 8.5?

Right now I am using the Max10 SCT and 4000kv sensorless setup. Since the fan/program port is dead on my esc, I cannot program it, and I am running the esc fan off of receiver by servo extension. Might just keep the sensorless setup and get the new 10BL120 G2 esc, which has a separate fan and program port, and a electronic timing option in the settings.

I thought I was going to a big race the other weekend but it didn't happen, so see my prep for it here!: https://www.rctalk.com/forum/threads/getting-ready-for-a-big-race-happening-in-a-few-weeks.139426/

For racing, and it will be the same for my rusty, I will be using my SMC 7200 90C stick packs, and I will keep my amazon Hoovo and Youme Power ones as basher packs or as spares.

I had a rear shock leaking oil issue, so I just took the ones off of the rusty and use it for the slash so that's why the rusty was down.

For the diff, I am running the 272R so I got the sealed diff and can tune it. I have no idea what kind of oils I should use on a 2wd. Currently, its just black grease. I seen some run 15K, and some run 300K, might have to talk to the locals about that.

As these are a racer/basher type of car, I am planning on just getting Traxxas Spec SCT tires. Thinking about getting the BF-Goodrich tires. Currently have the Anacondas, which are 2 years old and almost bald. So wanna get those tires, and get some bashing in before the season ends. I still have my Duratrax Lockup MTs, and a pair of Duratrax Six Pack SCTs (fronts), but most of them have stripped hexes. I was searching up Duratrax tires, and looks like most of their stock on AMain is on backorder, or some are even discontinued, wonder what is happening? Even on Amazon too. Just going to go back with Traxxas stuff so I can just get stuff running for cheap and simple. Would like to go with ProLine route, but its almost 100 bucks for a set, not the best for me right now.

Also forgot to add, my clay wheel/tire setup. I am using DE racing trinidad wheels, but in SCTE offset front and rear, and a weird thing, is that those wheels don't have vent holes, and at Beach RC, due to not having that, once of my rear tires inflated or puffed up, so I'm going to attempt to remove the glue, reglue it, but only will glue certain spots of the tire to the rim, not the whole rim. Might even poke a little hole in the tire, that might be better.

Some maintenance tonight as I was working on the rustler. Put the plastic spur back in since I'm racing. took out the Hot Racing steel one. I will also get 83T and 76T for the spurs and see what is best for me, the electronics, speed, and the track. I also re-greased the MIP axles. Found one of the RPM rear hubs where the bearing is warped and has alot of play in it so I will be getting RPM replacement or Amazon (Atomik RC) aluminum hubs.

Cool 2wd slash build, I used to have 2 slash 2wd's sold\traded both of them since i tend to like the 4x4 slash more. My current truck is a Slash 4x4 Ultimate i bought mid this year and built it using parts i had lying around from pervious trucks.

I'm heading down the Slash 4x4 to Monster Truck route myself... have a few bits coming from Jenny's (bumpers and Wheels/tires).

I have my Rally and some 2WDs for the flat and dusty areas, so....
That's cool, I currently have 3 Slash 4x4's a VXL LCG, a VXL HCG and my LCG Ultimate i'll probably be selling my extra 2 to make space for new future vehicles.

you seem to be more of a racer though.
Yea. Id be more into bashing if I had more durable car/s. And if there were actually more people in my area / town in RC and Bashing. Or heck, maybe some fun parking lot drag racing, if I had a drag car.
The problem I had with my Monster slash build was the front tires were rubbing on the suspension arms when turning so they would lock up. I burnt a tranny / tranny case, and overheated motors, and I still geared down by alot. But that was on stock titan brushed electronics so no matter what it always overheated.

Slash did well today, the new compound helped with not sliding around.
Smooth suspension, better than last time.
Tried 2 bodies. The Traxxas clear (bomb pop) and the ProLine Silverado one (black/red). The ProLine had more cut outs so more airflow so it made it better for less parachuting. Thinking about a JConcepts body and it should be as good or better as my ProLine Silverado one.
I was flying through the triples, same with the buggy. Video comes out later tonight!

Didn't get lap times since I was lazy and not put the transponder in the slash. But I say I was in the mid 20s which is average for sct on this track.
