When my pops passed away a few years back, one of the things that my mom sent my way was his old pitbox from back when we ran together at the track.. I briefly went through it a couple years ago, and discarded anything that would never be used again, or had just gone bad (fluids, air filters, etc). -but I never really did give it the attention it deserved as far as actually CLEANING it up.. I’ve literally been using it as a pedestal for my nitro truck atop my starter box for said truck..

Well in lieu of the Jammin’ CRT.5’s breeding over here lately, and knowing I planned to do some “kit breaking” for parts support on the two I am building; I decided I’d clean it up, and make room for all the parts I’ve accumulated, so they are both easily accessible, and still packed up & generally out of the way of my 1/8 stuff..

Still had NC dirt in it from the track I put together years ago.. Was kinda surreal going through it again.. Wasn’t much left after the previous “clean up & trash” chore, but still.. Still feels kinda strange that it belongs to me now.. definitely miss ol’ Pops, and ironically enough, the 1/8 nitro truggy he ran was actually a Jammin’ CRT.. ❤️😎

I vacuumed it out, left his Thomas & Betts UV resistant Ty-rap’s for my air filter duties, and a very few other odds and ends that I can’t bring myself to dump.. Some silicone exhaust gaskets, a few old school clutch shoe tools, etc.. anyhow, I then gave it a thorough cleaning with a blue disposable shop towel or five, and some “Shout” laundry pre-treat. That stuff works killer on almost all plastics for removing NC clay, and I used it on my race bikes, as well as my RC’s years ago.

And loaded up with every last Jammin CRT.5 spare, and NIP part I’ve accumulated-which is a LOT if you’ve seen my latest build thread introduction posts..

SUPER stoked with how it all came together, and worked out absolutely FLAWLESSLY.. Now it’s pulling double duty, as it’s STILL gonna hold the NT48 2.x in the corner while it’s not out tearing it up..😎

Dude, Your pops would be super proud!

Made some V6 center braces for a Big Rock chassis, and they fit.
The first V6 XL Kraton! Probably not, but I'll claim the title while it lasts.

Yesterday i re shimmed my Vendetta's front diff to where it's rolling mostly smooth. With that car i really struggle with the stock plastic diffs someday i plan to upgrade it to 4s steel diffs. Next month i'll re-shim the rear diff and put a new Spektrum AVC receiver in it so i can hopefully run it more without too many issues.

These diffs or is there a 'special' Arrma upgrade?
Wondering for my Granite. If I jump on a 4s upgrade, its gonna be 'all in, one shot deal' build. 🤣

Have a 3s big rock in the same situation 🙄. If my son wasn’t attached to it, it woulda been sent down the road long ago 😂

It might work i have plans to try to get the stock diffs to work for now once i get a new AVC receiver for the Vendetta. Since i have other projects to attend to like my X-Maxx i might get a new SR315 for it or i might put one of my old Futaba's in it temporarily. Since i might start saving for the iXSR in the next few months.

I'm not attached to it so much as I'd like to get it running so I can ACTUALLY enjoy it, let kiddos run it and not worry about a blow out each run. 🙄
I will try to run my spiffy new tires and get some time out of 3s while I try not to think about spending another $$$ on upgrades that Arrma should have installed. 🙄
It would be easier if the truck just sucked but it is a MONSTER when/if it runs right!!! 🤣🤷‍♀️
Whenever I put the 3s battery in it, it just SCREAMS!!! I wish it would just stay together!!! 😐

Yeah it would be nice if it didn’t break every time out 🤣

Are you serious? I'd hate to take advantage of you it's very generous.
Just give me an address to ship it to 😁

It’s not new and I can’t verify it works, but it came in a used ride bought from the classifieds here from a respectable member.

Swapped in the 19/55 gearing on the Baja… not a fan of how much grinding I had to do to get the pinion to fit on the clutch bell. Not happy with the final product.

That’s what I get for being cheap… did what I should’ve done from the get go and spent the $90 on a vertigo clutch bell and hardened 19t pinion. Hopefully this cheapie spur gear doesn’t give me too many issue, unlike the pinion, it actually looks and feels like it wasn’t machined with a hammer and chisel.

I need to shred my credit card… 😂
