When my pops passed away a few years back, one of the things that my mom sent my way was his old pitbox from back when we ran together at the track.. I briefly went through it a couple years ago, and discarded anything that would never be used again, or had just gone bad (fluids, air filters, etc). -but I never really did give it the attention it deserved as far as actually CLEANING it up.. I’ve literally been using it as a pedestal for my nitro truck atop my starter box for said truck..
Well in lieu of the Jammin’ CRT.5’s breeding over here lately, and knowing I planned to do some “kit breaking” for parts support on the two I am building; I decided I’d clean it up, and make room for all the parts I’ve accumulated, so they are both easily accessible, and still packed up & generally out of the way of my 1/8 stuff..
Still had NC dirt in it from the track I put together years ago.. Was kinda surreal going through it again.. Wasn’t much left after the previous “clean up & trash” chore, but still.. Still feels kinda strange that it belongs to me now.. definitely miss ol’ Pops, and ironically enough, the 1/8 nitro truggy he ran was actually a Jammin’ CRT..

I vacuumed it out, left his Thomas & Betts UV resistant Ty-rap’s for my air filter duties, and a very few other odds and ends that I can’t bring myself to dump.. Some silicone exhaust gaskets, a few old school clutch shoe tools, etc.. anyhow, I then gave it a thorough cleaning with a blue disposable shop towel or five, and some “Shout” laundry pre-treat. That stuff works killer on almost all plastics for removing NC clay, and I used it on my race bikes, as well as my RC’s years ago.

And loaded up with every last Jammin CRT.5 spare, and NIP part I’ve accumulated-which is a LOT if you’ve seen my latest build thread introduction posts..

SUPER stoked with how it all came together, and worked out absolutely FLAWLESSLY.. Now it’s pulling double duty, as it’s STILL gonna hold the NT48 2.x in the corner while it’s not out tearing it up..
