Finally did something today, I got my Traxxas XO-1 named Serena back up and running today! She now has a Mamba Monster X 8s from my Arrma Felony but still using my new stock 1717 big block sensorless motor.

Here she is.

If you're wondering about my Felony Korrina she'll be back in April with a brand new MMX8s of her own. I just felt like using my older MMX8s in the XO-1 since this has scars and a possible issue when using Sensored motors (But may have just been a bad sensor wire idk).

Did a 1hr 1/2 google meet with @luke66 wrenching on our cars. Fixed the Rear Left arm on the slash. I forgot how hard it was to take out the arm without pulling out the transmission since I use those STRC locking pins with the nut on the other side. Just used a turnbuckle wrench to get that out. But had to pull the rear bumper and motor out.

He was wrenching on the STASH and MKUltra

Hey @Beer_Goggles_RC Haven't seen you in a while? Where have you been? Any YouTube Live wrenching sessions soon? Or is the garage too cold?

Not my car, but I helped! 😂 De-anodized all the flashy ugly blue on my buddies Rovan XLT-450. We got all the parts done now he’s just reassembling, I think it’s gonna look a lot better. I’ll be sure to grab a picture when it’s completed.

I'm assuming those pieces were polished up afterwards. Yes?

Haven’t done the shocks yet. Don’t have the right shock fluid to refill them. He may leave them blue, he hasn’t decided yet.

Drain cleaner with Lye. Soak them in a container and after about 5-10 minutes the anodizing melts rights off. Takes some baby sitting. The cast aluminum fuel cap is ruined, it didn’t like the drain cleaner at all. The CNC parts didn’t have an adverse reaction though.

It goes without saying… do it outside or in a very well ventilated area. It puts out a ton of fumes.

Yellow Can Easy Off Oven Cleaner also works well if you wanna give it a try.

Today i tried to run my freshly rebuilt XO-1 for first time and broke two outputs to both cheapo cobra racing diffs i bought off eBay $24 a unit both front and rear on the right side. Now i'm repurposing the cobra racing housings with guts from my Hoss' diffs and refilling them with 500k front and 200k rear fluid which i'm hoping it will work.

I'm going to try to be more patient with filling the diffs and waiting for them to air out all the bubbles before putting them back together and back into the car.

Sorry about the damage, kind of makes for a short play session. :(

It was very short the second i gave throttle on asphalt both right side outputs broke. I was upset and disappointed but i guess buying cheap diffs for your $750+ on road 6s supercar doesn't always work out well.

Still, it could be worse... :hehe:

Atleast it went the second you tried to accelerate and not when you went to brake.

Copy that man-I appreciate it.. I’ve got a couple mini-truggies coming shortly that have a stomach turning amount of RED anodized parts all over them, that need to become silver in a big dammiit hurry.. I was going to go the EZ-Off oven cleaner route, but haven’t done alllllll of my homework completely.. I’ll look into the fumigation directive too now.. 😂🤷🏻‍♂️ The only thing that worries me is the collars, though hopefully I don’t run into some subpar materials, and end up what your fuel cap did..

Glad to report that de anodizing worked out fantastic on the shocks; collars and all. Collars needed a little longer than everything else, but it got it all off. I took a short video to show just how fast this stuff works. However long it takes to throw in some tater tots in the oven, is about how long the whole process took.

I got just a couple pieces assembled on the front of my Optima Mid. Its been sitting in pieces on the table so long, it needs to be dusted. 🙄🤣.
I'm gonna try and get this buggy put together. Lots of things in queue now.
I am going to try to focus on completing some builds so I can actually start running again.
Although that RB7.5 might distract me again. 😎🤣

Much appreciated my dude!!

It is my pleasure, whatever ends up helping the community and making something easier is all that makes me happy! I'll be expecting photos of your results if you decide to strip the anodizing off the rigs you got coming. I'm curious to see how the aluminum on those responds to the drain cleaner.

I think that concludes the use of drain cleaner in my house. 😮‍💨 All the blue aluminum is gone, zenoah 32cc is in, 30° degree north body is on and the wrap for the new body will be here soon. I’ll be sure to get a photo once it’s completely done. My buddy can hardly stop grinning, he’s done a phenomenal job so far with this thing. I can’t wait to see it drive. I’m just jealous it’s not mine now 😂
