Haven’t done the shocks yet. Don’t have the right shock fluid to refill them. He may leave them blue, he hasn’t decided yet.

Drain cleaner with Lye. Soak them in a container and after about 5-10 minutes the anodizing melts rights off. Takes some baby sitting. The cast aluminum fuel cap is ruined, it didn’t like the drain cleaner at all. The CNC parts didn’t have an adverse reaction though.

It goes without saying… do it outside or in a very well ventilated area. It puts out a ton of fumes.
Copy that man-I appreciate it.. I’ve got a couple mini-truggies coming shortly that have a stomach turning amount of RED anodized parts all over them, that need to become silver in a big dammiit hurry.. I was going to go the EZ-Off oven cleaner route, but haven’t done alllllll of my homework completely.. I’ll look into the fumigation directive too now.. 😂🤷🏻‍♂️ The only thing that worries me is the collars, though hopefully I don’t run into some subpar materials, and end up what your fuel cap did..

As long as the collars aren’t cast, it should be fine. We did the test run with some cheapie Chinese WL-Toys heatsinks we had laying around and it stripped it all off, even in the cracks and crevices.

Red collars against silver shocks may actually look pretty good 🤔

I think we’re gonna try our hand at anodizing at some point seeing how easy it was to strip it off.

Yeah-it’s the LC Racing EMB-T Pro.. A pair of ‘em.. The WL Toys are literally ripped off versions of them, so if those went well, then hopefully…. I just can’t with the color red.. 😂

Interested in seeing a write up on anodizing. Thought about doing it a few times.

I’d say it turned out pretty good. Looks a lot less Chinese now 🤣

Tinned the motors. Gonna solder them up tomorrow after school.

Also remounted the Trashy NOT Proline slicks for the rustler, need to glue them back up. Thanks ProLine for scamming me ;)
Also mounted my carpet tire set for the slash on new DE wheels from the trashy Traxxas wheels, thankfully the inserts weren't ruined and I could still reuse them. Just need to glue that up.

Also put in new spur gear/slipper pads in the 22

And also tomorrow Ill see if i have a spare slash 2wd rear arm laying around. Cracked a RPM one. Pretty sure I bought an extra pair a while back.

Nice work kiddo. 😎🤘

Day 2 of 2 finishing cutting out and applying labels. This time I labeled tuning parts for the chassis. Don’t mind the bottom row, the parts in there is temporary, I’ll probably just put spare small parts in that row.

And which car is this for that still uses standard threaded screws??? 😍😎👍

Although it was yesterday but i got my brand new never run stock 1717 Traxxas\Castle "Big Block" motor for my XO-1. Then i pulled my old Hobbywing combo and installed the new motor in my car. Just awaiting to buy an ESC but due to lack of money right now and maybe even next month it will have to wait until April but hopefully there will be better weather then.

Here's the new motor.

Here's it installed in my car. Looks mostly factory just without the Traxxas temp sensor or stock esc and radio but i might go a different route with the
ESC. I might do a Cobra 8 from Castle or a standard MM2 without the special Traxxas firmware.

Another shot of my car with her new big block motor.

Is that a new motor, Nice to see you getting your rigs back up and running one by one i'm in the process of getting my cars back up and running too.
Although i have a lot of new Spektrum receivers to buy for my DX6C i have 3 so far and need 5 or 6 more before my collection is complete. I haven't run my B74.1 since mid last year when i had my first RC8X glitch where it pinned it full and it flew off a ramp face first into the wall.

Yea I'm all moved over to flysky/ Futaba now. I have my NB4 on my 2 race buggies, slash and soon to be Typhon. And I currently have my rustler and mini b on the futaba.

Didn't solder up the motors yet cause I'll let my uncle do it because most of my solder jobs aren't consistent and it's like a once and done and I can't do it again idk. 😥😐🫠 (Also my hands sometimes aren't steady. Also these motor tabs are like flat they aren't really like a dish and sometimes my iron slips off the tabs.

That's good to know Flysky and Futaba are treating you well if you haven't heard i sold my RC8X almost 3 months ago. I love my DX6C so far still plan to move up to the iXSR hopefully late this year or early next year once i have Spektrum receivers in all my cars. I have 6 more to go i already have 3 so far but i got slowed down by a lack of extra funds. I know the feels soldering i got the hang out it after awhile but most of the things i use solder on nowadays is battery and ESC connectors. But yeah having a known pro or family member help you is the best thing to do sometimes.
