Who was wrenching today??? What did you do??

I didn't have to turn a wrench, just a knob, to fix an issue.

My Rlaarlo MK-07 V2 1:7 trail runner/crawler stopped arming properly at start up. I'd turn on the Tx, then the vehicle, and I couldn't get throttle. The steering and everything else would work, but no throttle. If I then turned off the Tx without turning off the vehicle, I could sometimes get it to operate normally when I turned the Tx back on. I tried re-binding the electronics a few times. The attempts were successful according to the indicator lights on the Rx but the problem persisted. Curious... I was at a loss.

Someone from the Rlaarlo FaceBook group told me to check my throttle trim. Yup... turns out it was just a tiny hair off center, so the vehicle was sensing some throttle on start up and disabled the throttle channel for safety. A minute adjustment of the throttle trim got things back to normal. The amount it was off trim was pretty much unnoticeable by looking at the knob. I doubt I would have ever figured it out on my own.

Lesson learned!
Stop touching your knob!!!

Can't help it. Hairy palms and thick eyeglasses. Sigh...

Making progress on mission Rebuild The Slash Yet Again!

Its chassis and bulkheads are 13 years old. New bulkheads, chassis, and new anything else it needs. I'm waiting on a pro-built front gearbox and a Monster X ESC. I'm up in the air about where to put the receiver box. The current winner is to Shoe Goo it to the top of the servo. If you have a better idea please let me know.

Happens to nearly everyone first getting into the hobby. I don't know why they insist on putting throttle trim on electric RTR radios. It's for nitro RC's.

I used to like that on my stampede. Set the idle and see what it takes to stall it.

This thing was on the beach for maybe 5 minutes 😅 he drove it too the water, we took a couple pics, he went to go run in and a wave was coming in and it swamped it. Receiver got soaked and it died in the water 🤣. Never again am I going through this. I’ll stay in the swamp water around here 🤣

Weather today was a most-of-the-day drizzle. I went through all the vehicles and removed the wheels, hexes, pins, and sprayed off the grime from them and the drive line and axle joints with a mild solvent that dries to leave a dry lubricant (Hornady One Shot gun cleaner and lube).

Most were in great shape but the Rival MT10 V2 was very dirty, and looking near to the beginnings of rust in the wheel bearing area/axle stubs.

I also pulled the fan off the ESC in my Rlaarlo SBK10 and pulled out the mass of thin and hair-like dried grass, etc. that was building up in the cooling fins below the fan.
