Got ALL of my slicks together. New, old, ancient, dry, all of them. reconditioned them and coated them in some tire compound bringing them back to life and grippy for next weekend. especially the older ancient ones i got for free from a buddy who hasn't raced in a long time. Should be able to make it out till the end of the season. calculated I only spent about 140 bucks on slicks between all of my cars, minus wheels unless they came premounted since early 2023 for my clay side of my race program. Which is ULTRA good compared to the average club racer. Carpet on the other hand since its more harsh on tires and more demanding for fresh pins, and I bought all the tires myself, I calculated I have about 240 bucks in carpet pins/wedge tires since early 2023, minus wheels/inserts unless they came premounted/included. Ehh bit more expensive but I think its still manageable considering how often i race. Its on/off because of school. And I wait till tires are too far gone to be ran and I get a new set of the same tread, not having multiple sets at the same time. But end of tire money rant. Did that. Installed a new 20x20x8mm HW fan that HW sent to me in the wheeler. should stay cool now. Also redid the tape on that with new fresh protek servo tape. Previously used harbor frieght foam 3m sided tape that left a lot of residue. used wd40 to clean off the esc tray. Also shimmed the diffs on the wheeler too. center diff used 3 shims on each side, no more back and forth play. Front diff I used 1 on each side per the manual. still have that new center diff gasket but the old cracked one still seems to be holding up just fine so ill wait till my next rebuild. This week and next week gonna be wrenching on the Typhon. Got EVERYTHING minus a 4s lipo (or 2), track tires, and a dremel and drill - going to my uncles place for that to get that done. Hopefully should be all ready by the following weekend for the 1/8 track.

Got electrical tape around that C wire on the esc just in case as I had a failure the other race day where it just ripped off lol. Got it soldered up tho.

Chasing a mystery.

The Slash has a Castle Monster 2 / 1415 combo with a 15t pinion on 3s. The truck has no power and is "training mode" slow, it's even slower backwards. Punch was "disabled" I switched it to 100%, it made no difference. I think it's old battery is part of the problem but on 4s it's not a rager. I have eliminated the ESC by switching to a different one (MAX6), no difference. The motor has less than 10 battery packs worth of runs and doesn't overheat. Massively undergeared? A Stampede VXL with the same size and KV motor uses a 14t. I'm at a loss.

Started my Custom UDR build, was going to use one of my new UDRs , the older style fox body was the plan.

I did a some flex seal tape and undercoating to start.

Turned out the light kit that’s on the later model UDRs seemed to be more of a conflict on the ProLine UDRs 1967 Ford Body so I made a last min change to using one of my older UDRs for the custom UDRs build.

My older white UDR came apart next.

Once the flex seal was dry the body was ready for a few choice decals, headlights, turn signal marker lights, tail lights, door handles.
Desided I really liked the clean look, so stopped there with the stickers that came in the kit.
The. Test fit it to the older UDR chassis,

Then installed my new custom set of headlock wheels and BFG Traxxas tires that I had assembled earlier this week.

Also added a bumper guard and did a little photo shoot of it with some of my other UDRs.

Also painted a couple Raptor R bodies and lined them with Flex Seal as well.

These still need a lot of scale bits added to get them ready for use on one of my Raptor Rs.
I wanted a white one sort of tribute to my real Raptor which is white.

That new Fox body UDR is getting my white Body, which I had to trim it out for light bars that come on the newer UDRs, plus went ahead and hit it with a coat of flex seal under the body.
Soon as it drys I should have it back together and ready to go.

I pulled out a couple X-MAXX trucks and several of my old favorite track cars just needed to see what’s what, and match up the controllers to them. Made a few updates and repairs while I was at it.

This was one of my best track RC, I tightened up a few screws installed a new set of larger tires and did a few body mount adjustments and some minor fender trimming to clearance the new tires.

While I had one of the X-MAXX trucks on the bench, just for fun I tossed a slash body on it, just to see how it looked. Lol

Wrapped up a little project in the RC dungeon.. These are a handful of the decals I acquired when I built my last 1:1 racecar.. I was given this box by my momdukes after my pops passed away.. Loved seeing his old bench top box from his “work room” in my little RC shop, but I cannot STAND the color red.. I went back and forth on doing this for months. Very happy with the result. Really feel the same way about this box now that “The Dude” did about his rug..

Anyhow, here she goes.. Proper.

A box isn’t a box without the emblem… This is the actual emblem from the dash of the car the decals were accumulated by..

Got around to getting some vehicles to a more permanent home when not in the dirt as well.. Holes marked for future vehicles, but no hardware until they’re needed.. There’s another (5) arriving at the compound shortly.. The spacing will make more sense at that time.

Now back to work.. Gotta revise the track layout for the 734th time.. I need my head examined..

This evening during the power outage I was test fitting some Chevron style monster truck wheels and tires onto my 1st generation Maxx.
Both are 17mm, only the wheels are std hex where the truck is spline hex.
Trying to decide what to do,

I made a screen protector for my charger after several attempts to give myself a peace of mind. The bubbles are fine, it’s just how the clear vinyl is. The picture on the screen is clear when turned on.

Put my ProTek glitch buster from the slash to the Pro4 as I see that savox servos are really power hungry. Had a spare cap pack from a old xr10 pro so wired it to a servo extension and put that in place in the slash. Yes I did go back and redo that negative terminal on the cap if you were going to ask. Electrical tape for "water proofing"
