Greywolf has concluded their G+ series are good batteries. But their racing line is garbage. High IR's, voltage sag, etc. Just like a lot of the Amazon brands.

Maybe it is just both batteries went kaput at the same time. Maybe they were on the verge of not performing well enough for the truck, and maybe the short did cause something in the system to create a little more of a bottleneck somewhere.

Maybe you get some "bad gas" that clogged your injectors and now your vehicle gets 1pg less from whatever gas you stick in it. Maybe the same thing is going on in the electric ciruit. Maybe it's not enough to cause better batteries to hit LVC, but the old batteries just can't handle that little bit of extra load. Hard to say without getting some good data. This whole thing has me curious as to what happened.

The IR's shown on the old batteries definitely wasn't great to begin with. @Lostinthewoods86 - what is your LVC set at in the Cobra again?
That, and it could be that they’re the majority of what I’ve seen head south overly soon because that’s what most people tend to use. So it falls into just being statistically speaking..

I’m with ya buddy-definitely need data to determine much of anything for sure.

That’s kinda the thing, IR hadn’t really changed from when it ran fine to when it didn’t and the same batteries run fine in two other rigs with somewhat comparable loads I would think. I could rule out the buggy being lighter, but the mt8 is just as heavy if not more. The new batteries are cnhl 6200 mAh 90c And it ran longer than it ever had. It doesn’t make any sense 🤣

Lvc is set at3.4 on the cobra. When I went to storage the questionable battery after it ran a full run in the mt8 the cells were at 3.7

That's not bad really. I mean if it can run the battery that low and not hit LVC, you would think voltage sag on that battery really isn't that terrible. Otherwise it would have finished at a lot higher voltage 🤷‍♂️

CAD, Coffee, printing...
and a bit of testing

Got a couple other projects put away for the time being so I could have more space on the bench to put the Rey back together. Still waiting on parts, but they are slowly trickling in. See if you can find the tiny Rx going in this monster 😅

today is shock day. so far iv emptied out the Losi XX shocks, cleaned them out and filled them. they seem to be holding oil. now I'm working on the RC10 6 gear shocks. so far iv got the fronts empty.

also realized i need to find what i did with the servo mounts for the XX. i know iv got them, i just don't know what i did with them...

Holy cow that's looking nice!
Thank you! Zero lash or play in the upper A arms. 1mm thick PTFE washers. I also bought 0.015" thick sheet of PTFE and made some extra shims to remove all lash. I made a round shim punch die stack plate to make 7/16" dia shims with a 4mm hole, 0.015" thick. Used a 4mm aluminum tube & took a 60° countersink & id chamfered it, to a razor edge to make a center hole cutter. Then punched em out. Super smooth.

Very nice. We had a few jobs where we had to make tooling to do that. One customer we had did a lot of assembly work and often required special rubber or delrin washers. We made heads that we used on our hand press to cut them.

I didn't fix it, and it wasn't today but got the flood light fixed in the backyard the other week. Guy cut the wire for the sensor so it just turns on by the switch, also taped in new screws so its secure to the brick on the house. Now I can bash at night if I wanted too ;)

Did you at least remove the QC sticker? We still need to grab an AX. But actually, I bet with just a few AX specific parts I can build one from our spares now. I am going to look into that 😁

I want everybody to know I passed inspection!
