What's the best replacement drop-in engine for the TMAXX 2.5. I hate my 2.5 engine!!!

I replaced my 2.5 with a Sirio .18 and have no complaints. I recommend it highly.

Same here and it's a direct drop in replacement

Anyone try out the new OS .18 yet... I miss my small block Maxx... lol

Ditto, Sirio 18.

hey folks wow what about the drop in .23 by sirio for the tmaxx nothing beats it!!!no chassis mods bolts right in!!!!!!!!!!!

What's wrong with the 2.5 I love my 2.5 LOL!!!!!!!!!! J/K I can't wait to replace it. Probably this fall, and definatly over the winter, althogh it isn't too bad with a Golden Horizon cooling head, MIP header, Traxxas allum. pipe, Motor Saver air filter, and an 18t clutch bell. All of which will transfer to the .18 except the cooling head ofcoarse.

As for small-block, I'd have to go Sirio .18. It's been the best i've tried yet.

I've had good results with the sirio as well. I am actually selling it now if anybody is interested. PM me if interested.

-Only 8 tanks on it. Comes with Nova head.

I was kinda thinking i would put the fantom .18 engine in my maxx when it dies would this be good or no? It and the .18 bigbore pipe. Kinda wanted to keep the price around 200-250 if thats possible, would the sioir.18 with the .18 bigbore pipe be in that range? first is the fantom .18 a good purchase. What are the pros and cons of this engine if any one would know? which would ya'll suggest just tell me what sbest and ill make it work if its in my price range.

which is better fantom or sirio?

Thanks for the prices.

I have the Sirio .23 in my Maxx. If you buy the .23, also purchase the Trinity Wheelie Bar otherwise the truck WILL be on it's back.

My Maxx (with the wheelie bar) will ride a wheelie for 1st gear and after the shift into 2nd gear.

Sooo much fun again.

I'm planning on getting a .23 next, as soon as I upgrade my diffs. I'm having trouble finding an affordable soution.

I've got the Sirio, and it is a very well-built engine. I've seen the Fantom, and heard from a couple of guys that have one, and it doesn't seem to be quite as good as the Sirio. If you can get one for a deal, go for it.

Thanks fot the help.i think i will get the sirio when mine dies.

Unfortunately there is no inexpensive solution. I've used Kipster's diff cups with RRP rings, 3mm screws. They seem to work without breaking. Some say that shimming stock diffs correctly will also do the job.
Kipster

There is always UE

Then there is Maximizer

Has any seen the Rb15 in action rumors around that it has a little more punch than some standard 18's
