Help with traxxas 2.5

I have purchased a traxxas t max 2.5

The engine runs absolutely fine when holding the car up and letting the wheels spin however as soon as I put it down the engine bogs down and slowly moves

A little weight on the wheels and it just won’t run

Any help appreciated

Sounds like the clutch spring is broken, so it doesn't disengage at idle and stalls the engine if the wheels can't spin.

The wheels spin fine, it just bogs down when any sort of weight is on the car

Yes, that is what I am saying, like when you put it down, they can't spin. When you hold it in the air, they can, so it doesn't stall the engine at idle.
