I run the OFNA micro on both my buggy and my savage. No TRS though. It would take such a strong spring that I'm affraid it would wear out the servo faster or wear down the batteries quicker. Considering I run a 645MG servo for my throttle/brake duties on both my savage and buggy, the spring would be rediculously strong!
It's a weird thing. I didn't run one for 2 years and realized after a few run aways due to having a lot of radio interference in my area that I had to do something. Bought a FS off a guy, drove until it kicked in just to see how far I can go. For some reason, about 100 yards is as far as I can go... in some places 75 yards.
Anyway, I've been running one the past couple of years and feel much more confident. This weekend, I was having servo issues. I thought it was the FS acting up, so I pulled it, wired everything up, it was the servo, but the FS seemed to really make it worse. The servo was really slow in one direction but not the other. I replaced the servo, re-ballooned the receiver, put everything back together (savage with RCS cage) and realized the damn FS was still laying on the table. I took it out and drove it for about a tanks worth anyway without the FS and just felt so unprotected that I shut it down and ran the buggy for an hour instead.
Long story short, it's amazing how much you rely on things once you have them.
