Well, as the title suggests, what you been working on. It, buying parts to work on. It’s been a bit since I’ve been here and it’s been a good stretch for my nitro obsession.

I finished my xl and have been running the wheels off it. I LOVE this truck. Most fun I’ve ever had with any nitro. I’m so pleased with how it turned out and the runner it is. Aside from tearing up two Hpi hardened clutch bells, it hasn’t presented the first problem. It just runs hard. I went away from the slotted bells and bought a hardened hobao solid bell and it’s run 1/2 gallon with zero issues. It’s my favorite rc.

I finally got my x4.6 reliable and running hard. It’s always run hard but, it’s eaten spur gears like little Debbie’s. So, I put a 47 tooth Hpi metal spur on it and it’s been flawless. It’s a fun truck and it’s strong. I built it back totally stock. Turned out I had to do more to get it that way than I originally realized. But, buying used you’ll find the unforeseen soon enough. I bought this truck with a dynamite 28 rtr. I had a big red motor. I’ve since sold it and a piston sleeve set and used that coin for other rc stuff.

I ended up putting a new stock f 4.6 in it and I’m very pleased. It’s a great motor. Really good power and so easy to run. It’s a lot of fun.

I’ve been working on a 3.3 revo for a while now. Just accumulating parts and such. I kinda pour this on the back burner off and on over the last year. Just burnt out on Traxxas tmaxx’s and revo’s. I’d built a bunch for friends and such. Just one of those things.

Well, I finally got serious a month and a half ago. When I started this restoration, I thought I had a flawless roller. Well, I was wrong. All in all it was in decent shape. Just needed a little tlc.

I left the reverse in this one because I’ve grown to like it in my x 4.6. Rarely use it but, having one does cut down on the walks of shame.

I decided to go midfield motor in this. I live my os 21’s but, a 3.3 has the ability to be a monster for its size. So, the hunt began and settled on an engine modifier in NC. Underdog RC Racing. Guys the real deal too. And, actually will respond to questions.

This 3.3 will eat everything small block. Including my OS 21 tmaxx. The motor has literally eat this roller alive. Busting axles. Twisting them. Stripping plastic spurs. Had to take the slipper eliminator off of it. I put a metal spurs on it and I’m hoping it holds up.

It’s the fastest Traxxas nitro I have and while pop wheelies halfway through second gear on pavement. On grass and gravel it’ll flip itself if you gouge it too hard. Because I’ve broken every wheelie bar I put on it. This motor is no joke. And, I suspect before it’s over it’ll have dog bones for shafts and axles.

This is a really cool RC. And, it’ll run with my x 4.6 all day long. Pretty dang amazing. I’m really pleased with this rc and engine. Total the modified engine plus the cost of the new engine is $100 less than a new OS 21.

A month or so ago I stumbled into this savage SS. For a deal so affordable I had to buy it. I’m out of funds so this one will likely be a next winter project. I’m married to my best friend but, I’m even feeling guilty about the funds I’ve dropped the last 7-8 months on Nitros. Plus, I’m tired of building and breaking in RC’s. It’s time to enjoy them.

Pics of the roller. It’s going to need a good cleaning and going through but, this is the best deal I’ve ever gotten on a nitro. The shipping was more than the guy wanted for it. I’m blessed for sure.

It even came with the original manual.

And, this one I finished tonight after work. XL tmaxx. I bought the rcrnew extended kit. It’s pretty stout but, it’s a quality kit. And, when you figure in time to source and build a kit from materials, it’s a fair deal.

It’s got a modified 28 rtr motor done by underdog rc racing. I fired it up a bit ago and let it run for a while. Unfortunately it was raining here. Good for getting off work early but, bad for breaking in a new nitro motor.

I put a 17 tooth bell and a 48 tooth spur. I kinda winged it and with my hillbilly math, chosing that combo based on a stock tmaxx’s bell/spur ratio. I’m slightly lower geared but figured the sledge tires I’m going to put on it will be slightly higher geared.

I’m sure this motor will want more. And, from the looks of it, I could probably mesh down to a 38-40 tooth spur with the M1 pitch. I gotta start a bathroom Saturday so I won’t get to break it in for a week or so. But, I’m looking forward to it.

I put this kit on my tmaxx with the dynamite 19 in it. I sent that motor to Ubderdog to modify and run 7 good tanks through it a couple up le weekends ago. It’s extremely strong.

Parked it, put the kit on and swapped motors to this .28. Fired it up a couple times last night. Went to break it in and realized the rear differential was busted. I didn’t know that when I swapped motors.

Makes me wander about that modified 19 now. It run so strong. I wander how much this diff offset it? It’s rough on its wheels and locks up. Takes a good pushing pop through it. Them motors are something else.
