Might be a good idea to take it all apart and soak the carb body/slide in some DA (denatured alcohol) for a little bit and clean out all the cracks/creases with a q-tip. Be carful to not get DA on the o-rings. At least don't let the o-rings soak in DA.
It would also be a good idea to clean the crank case area where the carb goes with some DA and seal it with RTV when you put it back together. You can pick that stuff up and nearly any autoparts store for a few $.
