Ok, this doesn't really count as What I bought today, so much as what I saw while browsing the antique stores yesterday. Yesterday I needed to get out of the house for a bit but it was to freakin' hot to run my rigs, so I drug Mrs. Doom to the antique shops. ( I know that sounds bass akwards, but I like to browse).
While there I spotted a couple of cool looking rc's. Don't need another project but they were fun to find.

I was tempted just because, but running out of space, so didn't need rigs that won't get much use.
Wow. Really cool finds! How much were they?

I think the Nikko was $25.00 and I didn't look for the price on the Cox. Most of their pricing seemed pretty good. I'm used to antique stores being a bit pricey.

I got a tiny fishing boat for the wife and I. Maiden voyage went well. Even my boat is lipo powered.

I bet you could double that. Especially on the Cox if it's priced as good. Especially since they have the box.

Well, I didn't buy it. But apparantly Horizon is sending me this to replace the bad Pinto body. We'll slap it on the DR10 chassis. Kinda digging the color of this stock photo too, so maybe we'll go that route.

Thought we all said we would stop buying horizon products? 😅🤣

Well like I said it's hard to get away from them as they are like probably 70 percent of the hobby with parts and upgrades and especially if you own Horizon cars/trucks it's even harder to support them less. Some horizon is ok some is good some is bad. Like the Proline tire scam I had. But still good lookin drag bug body. Ooops I should have said buggy, for @Suburban_Hooligan 😁

Lools familiar... :hehe:

The Pinto build was something I started on as soon as they released that body. My mom had 3, and my older brother's first car was a Pinto. So I grew up with them. And it's the only 11.25" wheelbase body out there in no-prep. So I kinda had to since I'm already a few hundred into the build.

what features does a $700 radio have that would make it cost that much?

I was gonna play around with it when I receive it, I was going to get the M17 but this is their updated version with updated firmware and stuff. It's fast and smooth which is good for pan car racing, you can adjust the tension in the wheel and throttle, touch screen, the angle of the steering wheel can be adjusted, I think it even has a gyro tilt function for steering too if one wanted to use that, it has a built in rechargeable battery, the firmware can be personalized, I think it has like a 200 model memory too. There's more to it I'm sure, but I wanted to play around with it first. I'm sure it's overkill, but at the end of the day I just wanted a nice high end radio. 🤷‍♂️ It also does come with a receiver but I think I'm going to sell it as I already have a wireless receiver that's compatible. Comes with extra grips and other extra goodies too.

Anyone know why some RC hobby stores advertise items as in stock , but then show them as available in store only?

Curious anyone ever call the store and buy it over the phone , if they would ship it to you.

This store has 1 of what I want to buy, but need them to ship it, but listing says in store only?
Just trying to get feel how this stuff works.

They also show free shipping on orders over $75.00

🤔

Hobby town has a couple at their Omaha store, again says same thing.
I bought the 2 my local hobby town store had last week.
Looking for a 3rd.

🤷‍♂️ It is annoying though isn't it? 🤨 Heck can't hurt to give them a call.

The reason is to make sure they have stock for the local buyers, but yeah, never hurts to call.

I know of an on-line shop with the black model in stock. Haven't come across the red one.

Do you have a link?
I would prefer black or fox body.

Only black one I have found online so far was on eBay and is in Germany and with shipping and customs it was looking like over $700.
