Planning to paint up couple bodies white.
Turns out the level of scale bit on these Raptor R bodies requires several extra bits and pieces that I tracked down on Ebay today.

Was not really a fan of the Blue or the Red , but just finding the RC in any color proved to be somewhat challenging.
I was wanting the FOX body or maybe Black.
I knew they didn't offer the Raptor R in white so I knew I would have paint my own to get a white one.

I did find a black body and put a couple FOX bodies on back order with Amain.

That's a shame. I wouldn't mind having one. Unless they are updating it. Congrats on the purchase.
It just came out a year or so ago. I am guessing they didn't want to pay the licensee fees or something.
Not for sure really why,

I liked it because it's similar to a slash but, with longer wheelbase and several specific parts to make them look more scale.
Plus, I have full scale real White Raptor, and being the Traxxas collector that I am, I really simply had to grab a couple while I still could. LOL

Yea, I checked Jennys they were sold out of about everything I was looking for.
Jenny's did have a black body but so did Amain and prices were the same and Amain was taking orders for future delivery of the Fox body all free shipping so I just ordered the black body there when I placed the order for the Fox bodies.
The local Hobby town had a clear body that I bought with the Raptors last night along with some white paint.

I would not mind finding a 3rd complete RC but not seen any short of importing one from Korea or Germany for several hundred extra dollars and who knows what sort of customs fees would get tacked on importing it. Just going to keep my pealed for that 3rd, maybe one will turn up somewhere.

Nice!

The only real difference from the Slash 4x4 is the long chassis and the bumpers/body of course. I built mine up from parts a while back.

Very nice.
I think there is also some functioning lights I believe it uses a special slightly larger tire as well.

The hobby town guy mentioned axles and such that just a quick glance I thought they did appear to be bit larger than some of my other stock slash RCs.
I didn't look at it all that close yet side by side with any of my other Slash RCs.

Well a little bummed I just figured out some of the parts I ordered today were not listed correctly by the EBay seller , said the body accessory kits were for the Traxxas Raptor R.
I was tracking my order this evening to see if they shipped today, and they did ship.
Hoever I spotted what looked like what might be a traxxas part number and thought I would just check and see if it was, it was and it’s not for a Raptor R model it’s for the old 2017 Raptor slash, totally different RC.

Back to drawing board :writer:

The 2WD Raptor is a fun truck too, though.
Yea, It is.

I have a couple white ones and a blue one. They are all pre clipless body models.
The one in the middle of these new R models is an older 2wd Raptor.

I was just trying get parts needed for the clear body I am painting white for the Raptor Rs .

How do you like the Colorado? What motor you got in it?

I had a 16 Diesel Colorado, and a 2019 diesel ZRZ Bison Colorado.
They were both nice.
For a smaller runabout truck I have a Ranger Raptor now, with 3.0 Turbo gas v6.

What is 'ditch water'? Sounds like it should be free....
It's an irrigation ditch that runs through town that provides water for everybody in town.
They open the ditch in March and close it in October.
Tough to beat $17 a year for yard watering.
It's a gravity feed system so the pressure is always very low, and that's one of
the reasons we leave it on 24/7 and let it flood. We move the sprinkler twice a day usually.

My Jconsepts low profile body mounts for the Traxxas Slash were delivered yesterday. I would post a picture of them but they were porch pirated from me. There's no mystery as to who the thief is. with 5 acres of trees there's no chance of finding them so I redid the order.

So you suspect it was an inside job? 🤣

Ok, this doesn't really count as What I bought today, so much as what I saw while browsing the antique stores yesterday. Yesterday I needed to get out of the house for a bit, but it was to freakin' hot to run my rigs, so I drug Mrs. Doom to the antique shops. ( I know that sounds bass akwards, but I like to browse).
While there, I spotted a couple of cool looking rc's. Don't need another project but they were fun to find.

I was tempted, but because I'm running out of space, I didn't need rigs that won't get much use.
