Your health insurance should kick in for your medical bills. They don't kick in for the other person that you had the accident with......if they got hurt. But an accident with a utv, atv, or a dirtbike with a car or truck......it's usually the person on the off road vehicle that has the worse injuries.
So if uninsured dirtbikes can't ride on the road......why do they let bicycles ride on the road? I know those aren't registered, insured for comp and don't get ticketed. But they still get into and possibly more accidents with cars and trucks.
and then there ebikes! most of which are basically electric motorcycles. no reg, no insurance, no helmets. (although laws are starting to hit the books for them)
Ask your friendly lawmakers.
I'm sure it has something to do with 'motorized' in motorized vehicle laws and such.
Ask them why rich ppl don't pay taxes and why only old ppl get to write laws.
If there is a thin little dime to be made by sueing someone, you KNOW there are lawyers already sharpening their pencils and waxing their briefcases... THIS is how over regulation happens and why there are 8 trillion laws written about things like RC drones.
Its the society WE all built and love!
I was refering to a young person without health insurance when I mentioned the accident. You very well could be right. Laws change all the time. A person who was considered uninsured may have a coverage loophole now, or not, or who knows.
If there IS insurance there is NO QUESTION.
I am sure of that and I think thats why the laws are there, generally.
You need to keep in mind, it only takes 1 uninsured ATV to hit 1 lawmaker's wife's Porsche and ALL hell breaks loose.
Makes NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL how many other responsible riders there are... Karen wants blood!
EVERYONE is worried about the ding in the hood and passing dozens of laws to make sure hellion hooligans on death bikes aren't out prowling the streets of suburbia... Karen broke a $700 nail!!!
I didn't say this was fair, I'm saying how it IS.
