Right around Christmas, boiler decided it wanted to break down. Fuel company was also super late to deliver, so the fuel bill the VERY NEXT DAY was massive since there was very little fuel in the house tank.
Fuel - $1,700
Boiler Repair - $2,200

Friday, I just paid off the credit card to $0 from the last boiler fiasco... Woke up this morning to the boiler losing flame. Had to call after hour services to come and get it running again. Business license renewal came in today as well as some other bills I was expecting, but didn't really want to see quite yet. Another $1,700 in the hole again. Feels like I can't win sometimes and the moment I get ahead, life gives me the one two.

Hopefully this is the last of the surprise bills... I'm overwhelmed to say the least! Home ownership sucks(especially duplexes) and I envy my downstairs tenant most of the time.

I'm waiting for our hot water system to die. It's old and making a lot of noise so it won't be long. Think it's about 14 years old.

Whether the issues are stressful or not, id rather be dealing with this kind of stress than wondering if I'll have a warm place to eat/sleep tonight. I could have it so much worse and I'm grateful I don't.

Tomorrow is a new day and I'll recover, I always do! Plus I've been getting monster amounts of overtime at work, so it shouldn't take long for me to get myself back to 0 again. I was just hoping to spend some of this extra money on RC's and dirt bikes, not adult stuff! I'm also tired of working all the extra hours, but can't stop now.

I was dreaming of it at 18 and pulled the trigger at 24! Best decision of my life. Everyone told me it was a horrible idea, market is going to crash, it wasn't possible, interest rates are too high, etc. Well, the market never crashed and interest rates went up even more. Jokes on them! I worked my behind off and dumped everything I had into this dream. I never thought I would get there so soon, but the world has a funny way of making things happen when you set your mind to something.

Moral of the story if there is any younger guys/gals on here reading this, don't let everyone discourage you to do anything. The world today likes to tear everyone down and make anything seem impossible. If you want it bad enough, you can make it happen... YOU determine what YOU are capable of, no one else gets to decide that for you. Had I listened to my peers and told myself it was impossible, I wouldn't be where i'm at today. A dream is only as unrealistic as you make it.

Anyways that's my TED Talk. Maybe I inspired someone!

I'm sure he's proud of you now though! Parents are smarter than we give them credit for and especially at 21, you're not going to do what you're told. You'll do the opposite just to prove them wrong! Which is exactly what you did by the sounds of it.
