1st world problems 🤣 Noise I can ignore, but when they do that the freakin' diesel stinks up the warehouse.
didn't have the smell. just had to listen to it for idling for 45 minutes. no joke, the truck was maybe 3 feet from the building and the engine was over hanging our door. just kinda filled the warehouse with noise.

I am so sick of Horizon Hobby and their constant discontinuing of parts and RC vehicles. I have one project that requires I buy a part from them and they discontinue it. I am so done with Horizon Hobby. I'll never buy another product they own.

I have been surprised at how frequently they discontinue models.

I'd buy a Traxxas long before buying any Horizon owned brand at this point.

Luckily, I was able to grab my Pinto body off ebay before they disappeared. But I don't like not being able to replace it in the future. So I am considering buying a 2nd one and send it to Team Bluegroove.

Now 14 days? With no update. Tried to contact USPS support through their site and they said wait 3 business days like what? Why do I have to wait? You guys are hoarding my parts for no reason. Probably still stuck on the conveyor belt in California 🤦
Why would they send it there. Jersey sucks

having another one of those "this job would be great if it wasn't for the freaking customers" days. idk why it takes them 4 days to make an order but its really annoying.
also the human squirrel is running around with his tail on fire again. we were slow Wednesday and yesterday, why we didn't do a lot of this crap (general shop BS) then is beyond me. idk. i literally sat and played games on my phone for probably 6 hours in the last 2 days. so now it's Friday before a 3 day weekend and the 💩 is hitting the fan.

and my phone keep freezing and crashing.

No one makes a true SC tire but XL (tall) anymore, that I can find. and the only thing to get them is paying over 100 bucks plus shipping from Italy. So I guess when my hyraxs are too far gone maybe I'll do 1.9 or 2.2 crawler spec wheels/tire but idk about how I feel about that.

ill second that. i like those Hyrax's. grip on just about everything. and sense i run a baja bug body (and eventually a Megalodon body) the larger diameter looks better.

anxiety and OCD is rearing it’s head again but it’s more towards anxiety. I feel like every time I buy something it always has some kind of imperfection and its making me feel like I’m doing something wrong and have the need to rebuy it. The OCD isn’t helping either.

there's been a big rig idling in the alley right up against the building right next to our open loading door for a half hour now. no idea where the driver is. really getting sick of listening to the damn thing.
That would be music to my ears.

You just need to make an imperfect build using all imperfect parts and get it out of your system. 😜

Anxiety sucks and can cripple you if you let it, meds are only part of the solution and can only do so much. You really have to re-train your brain, and ask yourself if these imperfections really matter. The OCD is what's tripping you up the most, it's causing the anxiety. You need to force yourself to let it go. Easier said than done.

I know it's easy for someone to step in say do this do that, but I'm still dealing with it myself. I am getting better at letting things go, it's hardest at work.

Sometimes I stop myself, and have to ask myself, what is the worst that happens if I let this go, and usually the answer is nothing really. Being overly critacal makes it almost impossible to get anything done. You feel better when you finish something, so it's a rough road sometimes.

Hang in there and try to identify the things that are tripping you up and think about how important it really is, and if you can move past it. Remember, this hobby is for YOUR fun, nobody is grading you or judging you on it. Sometimes good enough is just that.

Why are people the way that they are... 🤦‍♂️

I take the Baja out, I know that it's incredibly loud and obnoxious. So, like usual I go out to the middle of the woods MILES away from anything aside from the approach side of a commercial runway. The closest house is probably 10 miles away. In the woods, there is a lake and this lake isn't a park or anything like that, it's just a big random lake in the middle of nowhere. Keep in mind there are 10 dog parks in my town and those are just the ones listed on google, there's more that aren't listed. There are also 4 other lakes in town specifically for recreational use with bathrooms, parking lots, facilities, etc and they allow dogs. This lake is ungroomed... it's muddy, silty, sandy, rocky, etc. People burn down cars and dump them in the lake... I can't portray more how this is not a recreational lake for swimming.

I pull in and no one is there... perfect, I find a spot that's out of the way and I get about 10 minute of driving until someone pulls up, completely ignoring the fact there's 3 other sides of this lake he can go on and lets out 3 or 4 dogs completely un-leashed.... okay. I'm not confrontational, so I pack up and go to the other side of this lake. I get about 5 minutes and someone else pulls up and does the same thing.... now I'm starting to get frustrated. I decide to go to the little island in the middle of the lake. The two other people take off shortly after I get to the middle of this lake. Not even 10 minutes later two cars pull up next to me and sure enough, two people step out and let their un-leashed dogs out. THERE ARE FOUR OTHER PLACES THEY CAN GO ON THIS LAKE AND 100 OTHER PLACES THEY CAN BE IN THE GENERAL AREA. WHY?!?! So, I move AGAIN to the place I was at originally and I finally have peace until I had a pretty nasty crash and broke a front hub. I was out there for 2 hours and didn't even get through a tank of fuel because I had to move so much.

So I've got this idea stuck in my head to get and FJ60/62 Land Cruiser. I've always wanted a classic car. I used to think an old BMW was the car for me, but honestly those things are stupidly expensive now; so that dream is dead. So, I've kind done 180⁰ and been liking the idea of having one fully analog classic family vehicle. I'm calling it my dream doomsday vehicle 😄.

So per usual, I become obsessed with looking for one on these rigs in a radius near me. I don't know how many I've looked at now. I've contacted probably a handful sellers for more information, pictures, etc to see if it's worth dragging the family on road trip to check out. Most of them are pretty inexpensive, but the rust areas on them are extensive (like roof gutters and rear quarters, cracked dash) so repair would be too costly. Another person just clearly didn't want to sell their vehicle as it was priced ridiculously for what it looked like. I actually showed them comps of other vehicles so they could understand why their asking price was insane, they removed their listing this morning, so maybe they got the hint.

So then I find one about 4.5hrs away; it's the color I like, pretty turnkey honestly; suspension replaced, steering stabilizer replaced, brakes, surface rust repaired, engine serviced, the lost goes on. Heater and AC don't work and clutch will need to be replaced down the road, but that's not too bad....asking 22k for it. I've been debating if I keep pursuing this one, I'd like to be 20k or under; he was a nice guy taking to him, maybe I can get 20k, but I dunno. But also that is a lot of money still. I probably shouldn't spend that kind of money on another car (we just bought our family wagon Subaru Outback end of last year)...I know continuing to invest my is really the best answer, but part of me wants to have some fun too!

Knowing me, I'll probably just obsess and not actually follow through. I can keep looking at the Cruiser forum and Bring a Trailer auctions to possibly land one cheaper, but no guarantee.

Oh well, a girl alcan dream I guess...
